• M.Sc. in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Biochemistry, M.Pharm or related discipline from any reputed public or private University.

• 5 to 8 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Pharmaceutical/Medicine Companies, Herbal Medicine

• Age 35 to 45 years

• Good documentation and research skills.

• Ability to handle basic laboratory instruments

• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams (R&D, QC, Procurement, etc.).

• Strong observational, analytical, and communication skills.

• Well conversant with MS office applications.

Experience

• 5-8 years of experience in FMCG Product, Reputed Cosmetic Manufacturer, Herbal & Pharmaceutical

• Products Development.

Job Summary

The Assistant Manager Research & Development (R&D) is responsible for developing innovative cosmetic, personal care, herbal, and skincare products in compliance with company objectives, regulatory requirements, and market demands.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development

• Develop new cosmetic, skincare, haircare, personal care, and herbal cosmetic products as per market requirements.

• Conduct formulation research and select appropriate active ingredients, excipients, fragrances, and packaging materials.

• Prepare laboratory batches and optimize formulations for commercial production.

• Evaluate product performance, efficacy, safety, and sensory attributes.

• Modify and improve existing formulations to enhance quality, stability, and cost-effectiveness.

Research & Innovation

• Conduct market research and competitor product analysis.

• Explore new ingredients, technologies, and manufacturing processes.

• Monitor international cosmetic trends and innovations.

Stability & Compatibility Studies

• Design and conduct accelerated and real-time stability studies.

• Evaluate product compatibility with packaging materials.

Pilot Batch & Technology Transfer

• Coordinate pilot-scale production trials.

• Ensure successful scale-up from laboratory to commercial production.

Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare Product Development Reports (PDR), Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR), Specifications, SOPs, and Technical Documents.

• Maintain complete R&D documentation according to GMP and company requirements.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with Production, QA, QC, Procurement, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, and Strategic Marketing departments.

Quality Improvement

• Recommend CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) for formulation-related issues.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives in product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

Team Management

• Provide technical guidance and training to junior team members.
