Experience and Technical Skills

  • At least 1-2 Years of working experience in the relevant development field in international or leading national organisations.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Lightroom, Premiere Pro optional).
  • Photography skills with understanding of framing, lighting, and editing.
  • Basic video editing or motion graphics skills will be an added advantage
  • Strong visual storytelling and design sense.
  • Creativity with the ability to turn complex ideas into simple, impactful visuals.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain brand consistency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities & Context:

Unit: Communication

Types of contract: Fixed Term Contract, initially up to December 2027

Job Summary: The Communications Associate Officer will contribute to strengthening the organization’s visual identity and storytelling efforts with dedication and creativity. The role supports the ActionAid Bangla]desh Communications team in developing clear, thoughtful, and high-quality visual content - including social media graphics, photography, and publications—while ensuring consistency with the organisation’s brand guidelines and messages.

This position is well-suited for someone who is creative, detail-oriented, and motivated to use visual communication to highlight social justice, gender equality, youth leadership, and climate action. The Associate Officer will work under the guidance of the Manager – Communication and will support tasks as assigned by the Manager.

Key responsibilities include (not limited to):

Branding, Event & Campaign Support

  • Develop engaging and on-brand visual content for social media, campaigns, events, newsletters, and digital platforms.
  • Design layouts for reports, briefs, publications, and presentations.
  • Create infographics, animations, posters, banners, and digital ads aligned with campaign needs.
  • Support rapid-turnaround visual needs during emergencies or high-priority communications moments.
  • Provide visual support during events, campaigns, workshops, and exhibitions.
  • Capture real-time content for social media engagement.
  • Assist in developing event branding materials such as backdrops, standees, and banners.
  • Ensure all visual outputs follow brand guidelines and uphold the organization’s communication standards.

Photography, Field Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Capture high-quality photos during field visits, events, and activities across project locations.
  • Ensure storytelling-focused photography that highlights programme impact and community voices.
  • Maintain ethical standards in capturing images of children, women, and vulnerable communities according to safeguarding policies.
  • Maintain a structured and accessible visual asset library for the Communications team.
  • Tag, categorize, and archive photos, videos, design files, and project visual materials.
  • Ensure proper documentation and backup systems.

Coordination, Collaboration & Quality Control

  • Work closely with programme teams to understand visual needs and produce customized communication materials.
  • Support campaign planning through brainstorming, moodboard creation, and visual concept development.
  • Collaborate with external vendors, printers, photographers, and creative agencies as needed.
  • Review and refine design drafts to maintain consistency across platforms.
  • Support the enhancement and updating of brand templates, colour palettes, and internal communication toolkits.

Relationships: S/he will report to Manager - Communication of ActionAid Bangladesh. S/he is expected to maintain functional relationship with his/her peers in team, priority, project management team. S/he must be able to communicate with other teams and units, both programme and function of AAB.



Job Other Benifits:

    Salary and benefits: Monthly Gross Salary will be BDT. 59,168 with other admissible benefits such as festival bonus, provident fund, gratuity, medical benefit, group life insurance, mobile & internet allowance etc, as per HROD Policy.
