The Assistant/Deputy Manager - Agro will assist in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the agro farm which includes high-value crops, livestock, poultry and fisheries. This role requires a blend of leadership, technical knowledge and operational management skills. The Assistant/Deputy Manager - Agro will assist in ensuring that farming activities are conducted efficiently, profitably and in compliance with environmental regulations. The incumbent will also be responsible for optimizing production, managing staff and ensuring the farm’s overall success.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the agro farm (high-value crops, livestock, poultry and fisheries), ensuring smooth and efficient production processes.
Assist in managing and supervising farm staff, including recruitment, training and performance evaluations.
Develop and implement farming schedules to ensure timely planting, harvesting and distribution.
Ensure that all farm operations are in compliance with local agricultural laws and regulations.
Monitor the health and growth of crops, making adjustments as necessary to optimize productivity.
Maintain and manage inventory of farm supplies, equipment and produce.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for materials and equipment.
Develop and implement strategies for reducing costs and improving farm efficiency.
Coordinate with procurement and accounts teams to manage budget, cost control and vendor relationships.
Work closely with senior management to create and implement long-term strategic goals for the farm.
Provide reports on farm operations, including financial performance, crop yields and staff performance.
