Experience:
BSc or MSc in Agriculture / Agronomy / Horticulture or a related field from a reputed university.
Candidates with specialized training in crop production or farm management will be given preference.
At least 10 years of experience in farm management or agricultural production with a strong understanding of crop and livestock management.
Proven experience in managing staff and handling administrative tasks in an agro-farming environment.
Strong knowledge of crop production techniques, soil science, pest management and farming machinery.
Familiarity with farming software and farm management tools.
Ability to understand and apply modern agricultural practices, including sustainable and organic farming.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a diverse team.
Excellent communication skills to liaise with suppliers, staff and senior management.
Decision-making and problem-solving skills to address operational and logistical challenges.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Physical stamina to oversee farm operations and work in outdoor conditions.
The Agro Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of farm operations. This role requires a blend of leadership, technical agricultural knowledge and operational management skills. The Agro Manager will ensure that farming activities are conducted efficiently, profitably and in compliance with environmental regulations. The manager will also be responsible for optimizing crop production, managing staff and ensuring the farm's overall success.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the agro farm, ensuring smooth and efficient production processes.
Manage and supervise farm staff, including recruitment, training and performance evaluations.
Develop and implement farming schedules to ensure timely planting, harvesting and distribution.
Ensure that all farm operations are in compliance with local agricultural laws and regulations.
Monitor the health and growth of crops, making adjustments as necessary to optimize productivity.
Maintain and manage inventory of farm supplies, equipment and produce.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for materials and equipment.
Develop and implement strategies for reducing costs and improving farm efficiency.
Coordinate with procurement and accounts teams to manage budget, cost control and vendor relationships.
Provide reports on farm operations, including financial performance, crop yields and staff performance.
