Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (Master’s preferred)
Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, or CMA (part or full)
Relevant experience in taxation, VAT, or financial compliance
Strong knowledge of local VAT and tax laws
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally) and MS Excel
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preparing, reviewing, and filing monthly, quarterly, and annual VAT returns in compliance with local tax laws and regulations
Ensuring timely and accurate submission of corporate income tax, withholding tax, and other statutory returns
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tax laws, VAT regulations, and compliance requirements
Liaising with tax authorities regarding queries, assessments, and audits
Assisting in developing tax-efficient strategies and ensuring compliance with tax legislation
Providing advice on VAT implications of new business initiatives, contracts, and cross-border transactions
Supporting in evaluating and minimizing tax exposure and identifying opportunities for tax optimization
Reconciling VAT and tax-related general ledger accounts
Preparing periodic tax reports and schedules for management review
Supporting internal and external audits with tax-related documentation
Maintaining proper records of tax invoices, credit notes, and supporting documentation as per statutory requirements
Ensuring all tax documents are filed and stored systematically for easy retrieval during audits
Coordinating with finance, procurement, and operations teams to ensure correct VAT treatment on transactions
Communicating with external consultants, auditors, and tax authorities when required
Provide training and guidance to team members on VAT and tax procedures
Identifying and implementing process improvements in tax reporting and compliance systems
Staying updated with changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization
