This role is more than managing imports—it’s about leading a team, driving cost efficiency, and shaping the commercial strategies that fuel one of the fastest-growing FMCG businesses in the country.
As the Assistant Manager – Commercial (Import), you will play a pivotal leadership role in ensuring the seamless flow of global sourcing, raw materials, and packaging items that keep our FMCG production running. Your decisions will directly impact product availability, market competitiveness, and overall business success.
Lead and oversee the end-to-end import process: LC opening, shipment tracking, customs clearance, supplier negotiations, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Partner with global suppliers, shipping agents, C&F, banks, and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective imports.
Analyze international sourcing opportunities, negotiate favorable trade terms, and anticipate market dynamics to gain competitive edge.
Implement import strategies aligned with organizational and FMCG business goals, ensuring efficiency and sustainability.
Maintain commercial reports, forecasts, and documentation for strategic decision-making at management level.
Lead and mentor the commercial team, building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business, International Trade, or Supply Chain) from a reputed Public University; Master’s preferred.
5+ years’ experience in Import/Commercial function, preferably in FMCG sector.
Strong leadership ability, with proven skills in team management and strategic planning.
In-depth knowledge of L/C, Customs Act, Import Policy, VAT, and Tax regulations.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/HRIS systems.
