∎ Project Brief:
∎ A National NGO is implementing a multi-year skills development project as part of a joint Initiative of a consortium in the refugee camps of Cox`s Bazar. The Project aims to assist refugees to acquire transferable and portable skills relevant to the labour market needs in Myanmar and the camp contexts, that would support sustainable return and integration (in Myanmar) when conditions permit; while enabling refugees to maintain hope for the future and have dignified and productive lives in the camps, including through engagement in multi-sectorial camp-based activities, minor livelihood activities, and community works, with the utilisation of acquired competencies.
∎ Part I: Job Statement:
∎ One key role of the Assistant Instructor (AI) will be supporting the successful implementation of Skills Development component through providing training in the UNHCR training centers located in the refugee camps (C-21, C-26 and C-27) of Teknaf. The project is seeking one AI at present who will be responsible for delivering the Myanmar Level-1 curriculum under the supervision of Vocational Training Coordinator (VTC) for the following select trade:
∎ Level-1 Aid to Midwifery/Nursing/ Caregiver:
∎ He/she will need to ensure appropriate teaching and learning practices to raise learners` standards and progress following the humanitarian principles and sector guidelines and standard. The AI will assist in monitoring and data collection to develop high quality reports and documents to be shared with his/her line manager and UNHCR respectively. S/he will need to take on challenges to ensure a rapid, effective and timely response, holding the responsibility of the effective delivery of vocational courses with the refugee beneficiaries for project`s achievements and results.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ A. Key Activities:
∎ Assist the VTC on the enrolment of training participants (refugee beneficiaries of targeted age group of 18-24) to a specific trade ensuring the prequalification criteria.
∎ To work in close collaboration with the Vocational Training Specialist (VTS) to implement and administer all assessment and quality assurance procedures in the class room as directed by the Awarding Organisation(s).
∎ To support, train and guide learners and develop their personal and professional attitudes, skills and abilities with responsibility to ensure successful completion of qualifications as guided by the VTS.
∎ To attend regular Progress and Standardisation meetings.
∎ Participate in ToT and relevant skill assessment of the project in consultation with VTS.
∎ Coordinate with other AIs to ensure all required M&E is completed.
∎ Analyse training needs and feedback on the courses needed for future planning/management information to modify and improve existing programs.
∎ To follow up and provide feedback to fellow team members and support their continuous professional development.
∎ Explore options to link former training participants with program/project activities.
∎ B. Reporting Activities:
∎ Support the VTS on providing monthly report, progress and achievement of each individual learner
∎ To respond positively to any course or enrolment enquiries and to contribute to all aspects of this skill development training publicity and learner recruitment programme.
∎ To respond to any reasonable request for learner information and to provide learner reports when necessary.
∎ C. General:
∎ Assist project implementation team in conducting regular/monthly and need based meetings
∎ Regularly update the senior management on project progress and challenges in the field and ensure their timely solutions.
∎ Ensure logistics and security to the project's staff as per organization's policies and procedures in coordination with Logistics department.
∎ Create congenial/friendly working environment for all staff members and ensure appropriate learning culture adhering to all safeguarding issues.
∎ Attend training/orientation as and when asked by the organization/ project management and participate in meetings, workshops and other events organized by other stakeholders and represent the project
∎ Perform any other related duties or responsibilities when assigned by the organization/ project management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Academic:
∎ Minimum 3 years of professional experience
∎ Demonstrated experience in National Qualification Framework and National Skills Certificate (NSC) are required.
∎ Knowledge on National Skills Standards Authority (NSSA) of Myanmar would be an added advantage
∎ Experience in NSC course design and assessment through certified assessor
∎ Knowledge of ASEAN Qualifications Reference Framework would be an added advantage
∎ Knowledge of Rohingya dialect is desirable and experience in the Rohingya Camp Context will be preferred.
∎ Skills:
∎ To have clear understanding on Competency Based Learning Modules (CBLM)
∎ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
∎ Willingness and ability to work in hardship environments
∎ Excellent teamwork, and a proven track record of building trust within and empowering teams
∎ Diplomacy, tact and negotiating skills are essential
∎ Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and reporting skills in English and effective interpersonal and negotiation skills, proven through successful interactions with all levels of stakeholder groups.

Salary:
∎ BDT 50,000/month (inclusive all)
