Responsibilities & Context:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting System Setup (Core Responsibility)

  • Design and implement a complete accounting structure from scratch

  • Develop chart of accounts suitable for an education institute

  • Establish accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

  • Set up accounting software (Excel)


2. Financial Record Management

  • Maintain accurate records of:

    • Income (student fees, admissions)

    • Expenses (salary, rent, utilities, procurement)

  • Ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions


3. Cash & Bank Management

  • Manage daily cash transactions and reconciliation

  • Monitor bank accounts and ensure proper fund utilization

  • Implement daily/weekly cash reporting system


4. Billing & Revenue Tracking

  • Develop and manage student billing system

  • Track fee collection, dues, and outstanding payments

  • Coordinate with counselors and operations for revenue accuracy


5. Expense & Procurement Control

  • Verify and record all expenses

  • Ensure procurement follows SOP and budget guidelines

  • Monitor cost control across branches


6. Financial Reporting

  • Prepare:

    • Monthly financial statements

    • Profit & Loss (P&L) reports

    • Cash flow reports

  • Provide insights to management for decision-making


7. Payroll Coordination

  • Support salary processing and adjustments

  • Maintain payroll records in coordination with HR


8. Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with local financial regulations

  • Prepare documents for internal/external audits

  • Maintain tax-related documentation


9. Coordination & Support

  • Work closely with:

    • HR (salary & employee data)

    • Operations (branch expenses)

    • Inventory (asset & purchase tracking)


Key Deliverables

  • Fully functional accounting system

  • Proper chart of accounts

  • Monthly financial reporting system

  • Cash control and reconciliation process

  • Expense tracking and approval structure


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldExperience:

    • 2–3 years of experience in accounting or finance

    • Experience in setting up accounting systems will be a strong advantage

    • Experience in education/training institutes preferred


    Required Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles

    • Proficiency in Excel (mandatory)

    • Familiarity with accounting software

    • Analytical and problem-solving skills

    • High attention to detail

    • Strong integrity and accountability
