Responsibilities & Context:

Role overview and impact

Art Director role and scope: Lead visual direction across campaigns, brand storytelling, and multimedia formats; collaborate with Copy, Strategy, and Production to ensure cohesive, high-impact work.

Key responsibilities: Concept ideation, visual system development, art direction on shoots and motion projects, design leadership within multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior designers.

Required qualifications

Experience level: 5+ years in art direction or senior design roles within advertising or brand studios; portfolio with integrated campaigns (print, digital, video, social).

Creative credentials: Strong mastery of visual language, typography, color theory, composition, and brand systems.

Software proficiency: Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and motion/3D tools as applicable (After Effects, Premiere, Cinema 4D).

Brand storytelling: Demonstrated ability to translate brand strategy into a consistent, scalable visual system.

Portfolio and work samples

Portfolio breadth: Samples across multiple formats (campaigns, branding, digital experiences, experiential).

Concept-to-execution: Show end-to-end thinking—from brief interpretation to final deliverables and production-ready assets.

Leadership in visuals: Examples of leading creative direction on shoots, art direction for photography/illustration, and collaboration with photographers, directors, and producers.

Creative leadership and collaboration

Team leadership: Experience mentoring designers, establishing design critique processes, and elevating team output.

Cross-functional collaboration: Proven ability to work with Strategy, Copy, Project Management, and Production to deliver on-time, on-brand outcomes.

Stakeholder communication: Strong presenting skills; able to articulate design decisions to non-design stakeholders.

Creative process: Structured approach to briefs, mood boards, style frames, and design systems; iterative with fast, thoughtful loops.

Problem-solving mindset: Ability to balance aesthetics with practicality, budget, and production constraints.

Attention to detail: Rigorous about visual consistency, grids, and pixel perfection across formats.
