Job Responsibilities:
∎ ROLE PURPOSE: The Agriculture and Training Officer (ATO) will assume the overall oversight of emergency response towards the host communities in Cox's Bazar, under the supervision of Project Manager and in collaboration with the Programme Director of SEEP. The Agriculture and Training Officer (ATO) will be based in Cox's Bazar district to lead the project titled 'Mitigating the negative consequences of food price increases and strengthening food security', mainly to support the host community to mitigate the negative consequences of food price increase and to strengthen food security, with a plan to diversify the portfolio.
∎ The Agriculture and Training Officer (ATO) will support the project team to ensure the emergency portfolio is coherent and effective in supporting the host communities and is in line with SEEP's country ambitions. The Agriculture and Training Officer (ATO) is responsible for the agricultural and gardening training activities to the farmers in project areas and will also provide guidance for the project team to ensure commitments to donors are met.
∎ Responsible to organize and facilitate several agro based training and workshop, establish agriculture demonstration firm, farmers field schools, develop resources farmers, seed bank, technical support to farmers, effective network and coordination with sever agriculture stakeholders etc. as per requirement of the project. He/she will be in charge of properly and effectively implement the training and providing necessary directions to the project team.
∎ S/he will have adequate knowledge on the agricultural sector of Bangladesh, homestead farming, integrated farming, organic farming etc. His/her responsibilities involve monitoring of project plans, supervision and monitoring of activities perform by other staffs, organizing and participating in stakeholder meetings, and ensuring that project deadlines are met in a timely manner.
Additional Requirements:
∎ A combination of qualifications and experience in humanitarian setting, including emergency humanitarian response.
∎ A minimum of 3-4 years' experience in agricultural and gardening training, establish agriculture demonstration firm, farmers field schools, develop resources farmers, seed bank, technical support to farmers;
∎ Experience of working in government organization/NGO/INGO will be preferred.
∎ Experience of working in Rohingya camp, and host community will be prioritized.
∎ Expertise over local language of Cox's Bazar will be preferred.
∎ Knowledge of project implementation and local laws and regulations is an asset
∎ Significant experience training staff and beneficiaries on modern and traditional agriculture practices
∎ Profound knowledge on Microsoft office, Google applications, and other relevant computer skills.
∎ Strong management skills and competencies in planning and organizing.
∎ Can prioritize effectively, build alternative actions into plans, review priorities and gather and deploy resources effectively

∎ Demonstrated experience in integrating gender and diversity issues into programs.
∎ Ability to work with local authorities and rural communities, including traditional and political leadership
