Educational Requirements:
∎ Masters’ or equivalent degree from a recognised University preferably in social science or development studies, literature, disaster management, Economics, Urban and Rural Planning.
Experience Requirements:
∎ 5 to 7 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Manage overall capacity building, local advocacy and institutional development activities of the project.
∎ Coordinate with the municipality authority specially with relevant standing committees to mobilise services for the urban poor from municipality and GOB agencies.
∎ Plan local advocacy events with municipality, capacity building of the relevant standing committees, ward committees and CBO leaders.
∎ Facilitate training and capacity building of stakeholders, influence service providing agencies for extending/upgrading pro-por services to low-income communities in line with Pourashava mandate (Pourashava Act, 2009)
∎ Convince Sirajganj municipality town authority to adopt good practices in city services on resilience building, climate change and disaster risk reduction.
∎ Organise capacity development of frontline staff, CBO leaders, women groups and standing committee members on their role and responsibilities vis-a-vie rights and obligations.
∎ Develop training module, IEC/BCC materials, campaign and organize training on facilitation skills for those who will act locally on dissemination.
∎ Organise advocacy meeting with service providers and mobilize support for water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) facilities including COVID-19 response for urban poor and climate migrants in low-income settlements.
∎ Coordinate with municipality authority, CBOs, local media and civil society organisation tomobilise public opinion and support in favour of urban poor and climate migrants.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Knowledge on project management, training need assessment, curriculum development, campaign design, team building, report writing, drafting policy brief and case study is needed.
∎ Basic knowledge on computer and use of common software in Microsoft is essential. Good communication skills and experience to work with local government specially municipality is highly desirable.
Salary:
∎ Tk. 40818 (Monthly)
∎ Salary Consolidated including festival bonus. Others benefits will be as per Organization policy and budget provision.
