Experience:
M.Com / MBA in Accounting or Finance will be an advantage.
CA (CC), ACCA, or other professional accounting qualifications will be an advantage.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
Good command of MS Excel and Microsoft Office.
Experience with POS, ERP, Tally, or other accounting software.
Good understanding of inventory accounting and stock reconciliation.
Knowledge of cash management and bank reconciliation.
Working knowledge of Bangladesh VAT and Tax requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet reporting deadlines.
We are looking for a detail-oriented and responsible Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting activities of our super shop. The role will focus on sales reconciliation, cash and bank transactions, inventory accounting, supplier accounts, VAT & Tax documentation, and financial reporting.
The position requires strong knowledge of accounting principles, MS Excel, POS/ERP systems, and preferably experience in retail, super shop, FMCG, or inventory-based businesses.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain daily sales, purchase, expense, cash, bank, and general ledger records.
Verify and post accounting vouchers, journal entries, invoices, bills, and payment documents.
Reconcile daily POS sales with cash, card, mobile financial services, and bank collections.
Monitor cash transactions, petty cash, cash deposits, and investigate discrepancies.
Perform regular bank reconciliation and cash reconciliation.
Maintain supplier/vendor ledgers and verify supplier invoices and payment documents.
Monitor accounts payable and ensure payments are properly authorized and recorded.
Maintain accurate inventory-related accounting records.
Reconcile physical stock with POS/ERP records and assist in stock-count activities.
Monitor stock purchases, sales, returns, damages, transfers, and other inventory movements.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales, cash, expense, inventory, and management reports.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing and preparation of financial statements.
Maintain proper VAT, Tax/AIT and other statutory documentation in accordance with applicable Bangladesh requirements.
Support internal and external audits by providing vouchers, ledgers, reconciliations, and supporting documents.
Ensure financial records and documents are properly filed, organized, and confidential.
Coordinate with Store, Procurement, Warehouse, Sales, and Management teams regarding financial and inventory matters.
Identify accounting discrepancies, control weaknesses, and unusual transactions and report them to management.
Perform other accounting and finance-related duties assigned by management.
