• Basic knowledge of back-end technologies (e.g., PHP, Python, Node.js) and databases (e.g., MySQL).

• Experience with version control (e.g., Git).

• An eye for design and user experience (UX) principles.

• Understanding of SEO best practices.

• Passion for youth development and creating platforms for social good.

RHSTEP, a pioneer non-government organization with over three decades of experience in promoting Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in Bangladesh, is launching the project "Unlocking Youth Potential for SRHR and Health System Reform in Bangladesh" to address critical gaps in adolescent health, SRHR, and health system equity. With operations in 20 districts and annual service provision to approximately 650,000 individuals through 27 centers, RHSTEP remains at the forefront of delivering essential SRHR services, education, and awareness.

About the Project:

The Unlocking Youth Potential Initiative is a dynamic, multi-year project designed to empower young people through skills development, digital literacy, and civic engagement. We leverage innovative multimedia and digital outreach strategies to connect with, inspire, and mobilize youth across [target region/country].

Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and creative Web Developer to build and maintain the digital heart of our project. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing our project website and portals, ensuring they are visually engaging, highly functional, and optimized to showcase multimedia content and facilitate youth engagement. You will bridge technical functionality with user-centric design to create an exceptional online experience.

Job Responsibilities:

Website Development & Management:

• Develop, maintain, and update the core project website and any associated digital portals or microsites.
• Implement responsive, mobile-first designs to ensure optimal performance across all devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).
• Manage web hosting, domains, and basic server-side functionalities in coordination with IT support.

Multimedia Integration & Interactive Features:

• Integrate various multimedia elements (video galleries, audio players, interactive graphics) seamlessly into the website architecture.
• Develop or implement interactive features such as forums, polls, registration forms, and dynamic content feeds to enhance user engagement.
• Ensure all multimedia content is displayed optimally, with fast load times and high quality.

User-Centered & Accessible Design:

• Adhere to and promote web accessibility standards (WCAG) to ensure our platforms are inclusive for all users, including those with disabilities.
• Collaborate with content and design teams to create a user-friendly information architecture and intuitive navigation.
• Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to continuously improve the user experience.

Content Support & Performance Optimization:

• Support the program team in publishing and updating website content using the chosen Content Management System (CMS).
• Optimize website performance through code optimization, image compression, caching strategies, and other best practices.
• Ensure robust data security practices, including SSL implementation, protection against common vulnerabilities, and secure data handling.
