Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Collect and upload verified climate data using standardized methodologies
∎ Conduct field surveys using ODK-based tools for the Loss & Damage Dashboard
∎ Map, identify and record communities engaged in environmental stewardship and common pool resources
∎ Facilitate focus group discussions (FGDs) and key informant interviews (KIIs)
∎ Organize and facilitate workshops at different levels engaging relevant stakeholders
∎ Collect data on suggested parameters for the Interactive Knowledge Hub
∎ Support data interpretation and preliminary analysis
∎ Any other job assigned by the organization
∎ Organizational Brief: The Center for Natural Resource Studies (CNRS) is a prominent environmental non-governmental organization (NGO) in Bangladesh, established in 1994. Since its inception, CNRS has actively engaged in its mission and has garnered recognition from various local, national, and international stakeholders, including government bodies and funding agencies, by showcasing innovative approaches and delivering significant learning outcomes.
∎ Background: Partnering with OXFAM in Bangladesh, CNRS is implementing the “Interactive Knowledge Hub” project to develop a dynamic platform that integrates tools, field data, and relevant government datasets aligned with climate and humanitarian needs. The platform enables context-specific intervention planning, reduces duplication of efforts, and promotes coordinated action. Ultimately, it supports data-driven decision-making for effective climate change and humanitarian initiatives. CNRS is leading efforts on parameter selection, data management, stakeholder consultations, and continuous refinement of the hub's functionality and relevance. CNRS under the leadership of OXFAM in Bangladesh will implement “Interactive Knowledge Hub” project in Satkhira, Kurigram and Sunamganj district.
∎ Outcome: Increased Access to Climate Information: Stakeholders including researchers and policy makers, have improved access to a wide range of validated and timely data, leading to more informed decision-making processes
∎ Job Purpose: Volunteers will support data collection to populate Loss & Damage Dashboard and mapping out communities engaged and interested in environmental stewardship to support the development of the Interactive Knowledge Hub. Your work will involve gathering critical climate data, documenting community stewardship practices, and collecting parameters to enhance this dynamic platform. These contributions will enable policymakers and local stakeholders to make informed, data-driven decisions for climate resilience.
