Job Context:
∎ Background:
∎ Working with the project team, the Training Specialist will lead efforts across the Bangladesh component of the project to design the interventions and implement activities in market development approach through Local Service Providers (LSPs), SMEs, and larger commercial businesses to improve access in quality input and services and to increase productivity and diversity of fish production system to smallholders.
∎ The training specialist will ensure market development approach in the five main results:
∎ Result 1: Increased productivity and diversity of fish production systems,
∎ Result 2: Improved smallholder access to quality inputs and services,
∎ Result 3: Improved market linkages,
∎ Result 4: Improved dietary diversity and consumption and
∎ Result 5: Women`s empowerment.
∎ Eligibility, Location and Duration:
∎ This position will be based at WorldFish`s Country Office in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Interviews are expected to be held in the last week of May 2019. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified and expected to attend the interview. The successful candidate should be available to commence by June 2019 for an initial two (2) years and seven (7) months` fixed term contract, with the possibility of contract renewal depending on performance and funding availability.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Analyse Training Needs Assessment (TNA) of private stakeholders, farmers and manage the training budget under the guidance of the project team.
∎ In cooperation with the Deputy, Aquaculture team and other project team members develop training manuals and awareness campaign materials for partners and WorldFish training of trainers (TOT)s. These will be user friendly for both women and men. Among other topics, it will cover business planning, fish seed production and management, homested vegetable growing, usaage of feed and improved farming practices, promotional materials and other topics supported by the project.
∎ Cooperate with the project digital partner in the development of digital materials by using the training materials as the script for the development of digital materials.
∎ Conduct Training of Trainers (TOT) (i.e. local experts) for project partners who will provide training to private sector/local service providers (LSP)s/input suppliers.
∎ Assist partners in development of training plans and awareness campaigns and monitor the same at the implementation level.
∎ Explore specific IT solutions to enhance efficacy and effectiveness of the new training systems and functioning.
∎ Monitor and evaluate training program's effectiveness, success and prepare report.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 6-8 years' experience in Aquaculture or related areas including 5 years' experience as a trainer.
∎ Experience in developing training modules and different training tools for a variety of men and women stakeholders within the aquaculture sector.
∎ Experience in facilitating at least 50 training including training of trainers (TOT).
∎ Proven skill on Training Needs Assessment (TNA), designing training, plan and manage budget accordingly.
∎ Ability and willingness to travel nationally in car bus and motorcycle and internationally.
∎ Fluency in spoken and written English. Ability to prepare reports in English as required.
∎ Computer literacy in standard MS Office programs and skilled in use of tools used in development of training materials.
∎ Desired Skills and Qualifications:
∎ Experience and understanding of Market systems approaches.
∎ Experience in the use of digital tools for training and for e-learning or business development.
∎ Experience in providing Homestead or commercial Vegetable training.
∎ Experience in management skills including project development and report writing.
∎ Experience with quantitative or qualitative research methods, as well as conducting field based assessments.
∎ Excellent writing skills for proposals, reports, and scientific papers.
∎ Excellent analytical and technical skills and expertise with the ability to work independently.
∎ Strong interpersonal and team skills, with the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Salary:
∎ This is a Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position with annual salary ranging between BDT 1,351,555 to BDT 1,433,865 per annum.
