Job Context:

∎ Reports to: Projects Director
∎ Duration: Fixed term till 31st December 2022, subject to funding, with strong possibility for extension
∎ Start Date: ASAP

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead and co-ordinate the outreach and training activities, ensuring that deliverables are on track, on time and to the required quality standard.
∎ Work closely with core media partners to identify key needs in terms of organisational and public interest content production capacity.
∎ Prepare regular basis training and mentoring reports and inform project colleagues on the updates of capacity development progress and deliverables.
∎ Providing day to day mentoring support to the media training officers to plan, organise and deliver effective training and other capacity development activities.
∎ Working alongside training, project and research colleagues, design engaging and effective training sessions and training materials (including syllabi, course structures, session plans and hand out/toolkit materials).
∎ Cooperate the Project Manager to manage the training budget exercising a degree of judgment to ensure that financial targets are met.
∎ Provide guidance and coordinate with the trainers and media development service providers in effective timely and accurate delivery.
∎ Ensure that safeguarding issues are factored into the design and delivery of training activities, working at all times within BBC Media Action safeguarding policies and processes.
∎ Any other tasks commensurate with the role as assigned by the line manager.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience working as a journalist or media content producer, preferably within a news environment
∎ Good knowledge of news-gathering processes and established reporting and production techniques
∎ Experiences of working with different multi-media formats
∎ Experience of partnership working, with the confidence and ability to deal with a wide range of stakeholders and partners
∎ Experience of designing and delivering face-to-face and online training programmes, preferably aimed at journalists or other media professionals
∎ Experience and knowledge of various training methods, including group-work facilitation and participatory approaches
∎ Well-developed IT skills, including Microsoft Office
∎ Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to form and maintain effective working relationships at all levels
∎ Excellent English and Bangla language skills (written and spoken).
∎ Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the proven ability to priorities, work independently and maintain attention to detail
∎ Understanding of safeguarding principles and ability to work safely with children and/or vulnerable adults
