Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Process Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Industrial production engineering, Electrical and Electronics engineering or any relevant field.
Proven experience in industrial maintenance and repairment.
Strong command of computers.

Uttaran Paani is a social enterprise initiative of Uttaran, a leading grassroots NGO in Bangladesh. Operating in the water-scarce and salinity-affected region of Southwest Bangladesh, Uttaran Paani manages multiple Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification plants that deliver safe, affordable drinking water to underserved communities. Uttaran Paani operates in partnership with 1001fontaines, a French non-profit association whose goal is to ensure everyone can drink safe water and enjoy improved health.
Position Overview
The Technical Officer will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the technical installation across multiple water treatment plants. His office will be in one of the water treatment plants and he will be working with the other technicians to ensure proper maintenance and reparation when necessary. The senior technician will directly intervene in the other factories if necessary / in case of sensitive Intervention. This position is crucial in maintaining continuity of production. The role requires effective communication with the technicians, plant operations managers, operation manager and abroad technical partners. The role also requires strong technical skills regarding water treatment machinery (pressurized filters, hydraulic pumps, reverse osmosis, ozonation …) and electrical skills.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out the maintenance (mechanical, chemical) in the factory where the office is located.
Ensure that the technicians and operators in other plants are properly doing the maintenance operation (daily, weekly, monthly) on the water treatment plant and filling lines.
Daily communication with other technicians to ensure integrity of the equipment.
Carry out corrective measures in case the maintenance is not properly carried out.
Communication with external suppliers for external maintenance or intervention.
Carry out minor reparation when necessary, in any water treatment plant.
Work closely with other technicians to fix any technical issues in the fastest and most cost-effective way.
Ensure proper communication with plant operations manager, operations manager and external technical partners.
Identify potential hazards, propose solutions and put them in place once confirmed by management.
Ensure follow-up files, maintenance plan document, inventory are properly filled up and managed.
