Job Context:
∎ Sundarban Coalition: CNRS is one of the members of this coalition along with JAGO NARI and AVAS which is led by Uttaran with the support of Start Fund Bangladesh, Local Coalition Accelerator and funded by Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies. This project supports the development of more resilient, "Disaster Ready" communities over 3 years in The Sunderban surrounding coastal Bangladesh, through a coalition of 16 local NGOs and CSOs. This initiative also facilitates coalition building to demonstrate the strength of a locally rooted coalition as they lead programme design and delivery in a participatory way and receive direct funding from major donors.
∎ The position `Technical Officer Sundarban Coalition" will provide intensive coalition building support to all the coalition members, in collaboration with and support from the respective lead agencies, Start Fund Bangladesh (SFB) and the Share Trust. The key purpose of this role is to help coalition members to collectively co-create a coalition building roadmap, support organizational development of the coalition members, and coordinate the lead agencies to formulation and implementation of Joint Action Plan (JAP) so they collectively strengthen the disaster resilience of the communities they work with.

∎ Job Nature: Full-time (Contractual) with possibilities of extension

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Coordination and Communication:
∎ Help facilitate and coordinate the formation of coalition
∎ Ensure regular communication with collation technical officers.
∎ Closely work with the coalition member organization
∎ Project Implantation:
∎ Help and Facilitate in the finalization of selecting 12 local NGOs and CBOs.
∎ Identify/recheck the capacity gap of the Coalition member organization and recommendation for fulfilling the gaps to Management.
∎ Assist Coalition Manger to Facilitate in planning of various workshops and meeting to define the design, principles, protocols, and ways of working for the Coalition Governance
∎ Assist in undertaking a capacity diagnostic with SFB
∎ Assist Team of Coalition Members in formulation of the Joint Action Plan and during the implementation of it
∎ Plan and coordinate various capacity development initiatives with organizations responsible for following the capacity diagnostics
∎ Assist coalition in Designing and facilitating Joint Action Planning Progress Review and Reflection meetings
∎ Provide troubleshooting and technical assistance throughout JAP implementation as and when required.
∎ Capacity building of member organization in collecting and analizing different data and information and documented.
∎ Share Coalition updates to Uttaran/Jago Nari/CNRS/AVAS, (lead agencies) and seek support from them as and when required
∎ Prepare reports/work plan well as required according to agreement and grant contract.
∎ Report to Coalition Manager.
∎ Develop and gather evidence for coalition by identifying and documenting best practices

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least four years of experience in the relevant field with direct engagement at the community level
∎ Proven experience of working in collaboration and partnership to deliver diversify programs
∎ Experience in network and consortia is an added advantage
∎ Experience in humanitarian sector/DRR/Climate Change especially in the coastal area (preferably Sundarban)
∎ Experience in data management Collection, Input, analysis
∎ Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports
∎ Knowledge on Community Risk Assessment (CRA)
∎ Understanding on LGIs structures, Contingency Planning, Standing Order on Disaster (SoD), Warning signal etc.
∎ Familiar with National Disaster Management structure and Standing order
∎ Good reporting, communication, networking and facilitation skill
∎ Having non-discriminatory and gender-sensitive perception along with safeguarding
∎ To protect children in connection
∎ Track record of facilitating capacity-building trainings and workshops involving multiple stakeholders
∎ Strong understanding of emerging trends in the humanitarian sector esp. localization, community-based DRR and emergency management, climate resilience
∎ Ability to multi-task without less supervisory support and manage competing demands across time zones
∎ Efficient computer literacy. Especially in Microsoft Office Package and computer literacy (word, excel, PowerPoint, Cobo Tool Box, SPSS, etc.)
∎ Proven ability to work in an intercultural environment
∎ Strong ability to work within a diverse team
∎ Ability to work under pressure and under a multi-sectoral / multi-disciplined team approach
∎ Willingness and ability to drive a motorcycle in the field as and when required and should have a valid driving license

Salary:
∎ BDT 60,000/month (inclusive all)
