Experience:
The candidate Should have at least a B Sc Ag, preferred. M S in Horticulture, Plant Pathology. Entomology.
At least 3 years in relevant work
Should have a motor cycle with driving licence.
The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO.
Minimum three (3) years of working experience in vegetable related project as a technical person.
Relevant working experience with PKSF or any project funded by multi-lateral development partners would be preferred
Good interpersonal skill.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in English and Bangla
High pro-activeness and ability to work with a diverse team
Experience of providing Skill development of different IGA (HVC Production, Vermi& Trico-Compost Production) and resources management training, awareness building among mass people on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) issues.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Good computer knowledge (MS Word, Excel, Power point, typing both English and Bengali).
Understanding of gender and diversity issues.
Contexts:
The PAGE Development Centre is going to implement a sub-project titled “Promotion of Value-added Vegetables for sustainable growth and instituting RECP practices”, in Agriculture sub-sector as a part of SMART Project. The sub-project aims to increase resource-efficient and resilient green growth of microenterprises (MEs) under the Horticulture sub-sector. The project is jointly financed by the World Bank, Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and PAGE Development Centre. The sub-project will be implemented in Cumilla district.
Responsibilities:
TheTechnical Officer (Agriculture) will work under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and will undertake the following duties and responsibilities
Assist the Project Manager in implementing project activities.
Assist in identifying potential microenterprises (MEs), select appropriate climate-resilient and resource-efficient Cleaner Production (RECP) practices for MEs and motivate them to adopt those practices.
Provide technical support to MEs at cluster level.
Select MEs for demonstration, set up a demonstration, and follow up with the MEs.
Assist the Technical Officer to prepare training manuals, leaflets, case stories of the sub-project, etc.
Arrange training, field days, meetings, workshops, seminar, fairs and Environment Club meetings as per the project plan.
Explore circular economy, value-added, product diversification, and new market potentiality.
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports.
Regular field visits at the project site, tracking the MEs progress in the adoption of the RECP practices and reporting.
Maintain linkages with different government departments (i.e. DAE, BARI), academicians, value-chain actors, input sellers, nursery, market actors and private sector companies.
Any other tasks, duties, or specifictasks assigned by the Project Manager and management of the organization.
