Job Context:
∎ Position: Study Director (Co-Investigator), WHO-GSMC Research Project (A global study of male contraceptive methods and behaviours using mixed methods)

∎ Family Planning Association of Bangladesh (FPAB) is hereby inviting application for the position of Study Director for WHO-GSMC research project. The project is a two years long sub agreement with WHO/HRP for the global study of male contraceptive methods and behaviours using mixed methods. The Study Director will be the CO-Investigator of the study and will be reportable to the Executive Director (Principle Investigator). The incumbent will be responsible for the management and integrity of the design, conduct, and reporting of the research project and for managing, monitoring, and ensuring the integrity of any collaborative relationships. She/he will provide direction and oversight of compliance, financial, and other related aspects of the project and for coordination with relevant departments and stakeholders to assure research is conducted in accordance with Government regulations and donor agency policies and procedures. This will be a full-time engagement throughout the project period.
∎ Job Location: National Head Quarter, Dhaka

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Co-Investigator will support submitting necessary documents (study protocol, questionnaire, informed consent form and other relevant documents translating in local language) to Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC) and obtain the ethical clearance.
∎ She/he will be responsible for conducting this study in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and will have to ensure that the study complies with the requirements of national regulatory authorities at each site, WHO standard operating procedures (SOPs), and the study protocol.
∎ The incumbent will develop the 'Operational Metrics' considering the targets on enrolment, data timeliness, completeness and accuracy.
∎ She/he will make sure that all study staff working on the study are suited for their responsibilities by documented experience and training
∎ the incumbent will ensure protection of rights, safety and welfare of the study subjects, conducting the study according to the signed protocol and GCP guidelines, collecting and documenting study data, complying with all applicable ethics committee requirements, retaining specific records and issuing specific reports
∎ The Co-Investigator will immediately report to WHO/HRP any serious problems encountered in the performance of the work, their efforts undertaken to resolve any problems encountered, and any anticipated delays expected as a result of the problems encountered.
∎ She/he shall prepare and submit to WHO/HRP yearly substantive reports covering the status of work under the sub-agreement, indicating progress made, and setting forth plans for the ensuing obligation period
∎ The incumbent shall submit a financial report annually identifying any major variance of 10% or more. In case of major variance, provide a brief explanation that can take the form of an e-mail exchange with WHO, or other relevant correspondence
∎ She/he will abide by the donor compliance issues and FPAB's policy and procedures in every step of project implementation
∎ The Co-Investigator will maintain regular communication and attend meetings with donor and IPPF.
∎ The incumbent will be responsible for successful close out of the project maintaining donor requirements and IPPF recommendations

Additional Requirements:
∎ Proven expertise in clinical research as principle Investigator or co-Investigator with at least 5 publications nationally or internationally.
∎ Understanding about SRHR issues, Family Planning policies in Bangladesh.
∎ Min of 5 years of experience working in development sector,
∎ A high level of proficiency in Bangla and English
∎ Demonstrated expertise in advocacy and communication will be an added advantage
∎ Have practical experience in data analysis, reports and journal writing.
