Experience:

• Diploma / BSc in Nursing.

• Must have valid RN certification.

• At least 3 years practical experience in OT unit in any reputed hospital in Chittagong or other districts.

• Must have good computer skill.

• Hospital software literacy is preferred.

• Prepare the operation theater before operation.

• Check and confirm sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.

• Verify patient identity, consent and pre-operative checklist.

• Ensure availability of emergency drugs, blood and surgical instruments.

• Assist in positioning the patient on the operation table.

• Assist surgeons and anesthetists during the operation.

• Monitor patient’s condition during the procedure.

• Provide immediate post-operative care and shift patient to critical care unit if necessary with complete handover.

• Handle and label specimens properly for laboratory testing if required.

• Maintain operation notes, OT registers and patient records.

• Report equipment malfunction or shortage of supplies to OT In-charge.

• Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste.

• Follow infection control and safety protocols as per hospital policy.

• Participate in meetings, training, seminars, medical camps, drills etc.

• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional ethics.

• Work in coordination with doctors, anesthetists, technicians and other nurses.
