Responsibilities & Context:

Clinical Duties:

  • Provide both outpatient and inpatient care for obstetric and gynecological patients.
  • Take comprehensive patient histories, perform clinical examinations, and order relevant investigations.
  • Conduct antenatal check-ups, normal and cesarean deliveries, and postpartum care, including D&C.
  • Diagnose and manage gynecological disorders such as PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids, infertility, and TAH cases.
  • Assist consultants in surgeries and ensure appropriate pre- and post-operative care.
  • Manage high-risk pregnancies and related obstetric emergencies.
  • Provide counseling on family planning, contraception, and menopause management.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, case sheets, and discharge summaries.
  • Participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and on-call duties.
  • Educate patients on reproductive health, hygiene, and safe motherhood practices.
  • Attend academic and clinical training sessions, discussions, and case presentations.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, medical ethics, and safety protocols.
  • Administrative & Collaborative Duties:
  • Work in close coordination with nurses, midwives, and support staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality assurance programs, and continuous medical education (CME).
  • Comply with infection control and hospital governance protocols.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior doctors, residents, and interns as required.
