Provide the highest standard of medical care for the patients for whom he/she is Responsible.

Manage the more junior staff in the department in the performance of their clinical duties and specific vocational training programs.

Initiate evaluation and treatment of patients, modify evaluation and treatment of patients begun by junior staff in furtherance of the highest quality of patient care.

Participate in the management of the department and the planning of developments. Take duties in accordance with the departmental rota.

Act up in consultant capacity when required under guidance of a Senior Consultant.

Participate in research and the full range of duties.

Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee’s knowledge, skills and abilities.

Shall be doing procedures, catheterizations, intubation and ventilation management, cv line indication, USG guided invasive procedure, dialysis catheter and etc.

Assist consultants in the day-to-day management of patients.

Assist in patient management as advised by the consultant.

To be conversant with the quality indicator in ICU. (VAE, UTI, CLBSI, HAPU, ALOS, SSF, NSJ) with age-appropriate benchmarking for the pediatric/neonatal population.

To use a Pediatric Early Warning Score (PEWS) or equivalent tool for early identification of the deteriorating child.

To be familiar with age/weight-based resuscitation aids (e.g. Broselow tape), pediatric-sized airway and vascular access equipment, and the pediatric emergency drug cart.

To coordinate closely with Neonatology, Pediatric Surgery, and Pediatric Cardiology on shared patients, and to support family-centered, developmentally appropriate care including age-appropriate pain assessment.

To review immunization status on admission and observe isolation precautions for vaccine-preventable and other pediatric infectious diseases.
