Job Context:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric & Neonatology Specialist to join our BSH team. The successful candidate will support and manage clinical activities within the Pediatrics and NICU/PICU units, working closely with consultants to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care. The role involves the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of pediatric conditions and the supervision of critical neonatal procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
Support and implement all clinical activities under the supervision of the Pediatric & Neonatology Consultant.
Independently manage departmental activities in the absence of the Consultant.
Attend consultant rounds and collaborate on care planning and clinical decisions.
Maintain accurate documentation and submit clinical activity reports to the department Coordinator.
Manage patient flow, medical records, and data entry processes efficiently.
Assess and admit pediatric patients in the Emergency Department as needed.
Perform neonatal resuscitation and stabilization of sick newborns in the NICU.
Execute various neonatal procedures, including but not limited to:
Lumbar puncture
Endotracheal intubation
Umbilical catheterization
Arterial line insertion
Arterial blood sampling for blood gas analysis
Intravenous cannulation
Insertion of oro-gastric tubes and urinary catheterization
Note: All invasive procedures must be conducted under the supervision or after discussion with the Consultant and Coordinator.
Ensure respectful, ethical, and compassionate care in all patient interactions.
Conduct thorough clinical assessments through detailed history-taking and physical examinations.
Recommend appropriate investigations and ensure accurate documentation of clinical findings.
Update and modify care plans daily based on patient progress.
Document daily progress notes, informed consent, referrals, and discharge summaries in a timely and precise manner.
