Job Summary
The Associate Professor/Assistant Professor of Physiology shall be responsible for delivering high-quality medical education to undergraduate and postgraduate students, conducting academic and research activities, supervising students and junior faculty members, and contributing to the overall development of the Department of Physiology in accordance with BMDC, University, and institutional policies.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Responsibilities
Conduct lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, and laboratory sessions in Physiology.
Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessment tools.
Participate in curriculum development and academic planning.
Prepare and evaluate examination questions, answer scripts, and practical assessments.
Guide and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Maintain academic records and attendance as required.
Research Responsibilities
Conduct and promote research activities within the department.
Publish research articles in recognized journals.
Supervise student research projects and dissertations.
Participate in scientific seminars, workshops, conferences, and academic forums.
Administrative Responsibilities
Participate in departmental meetings and academic committees.
Assist in accreditation and quality assurance activities.
Ensure compliance with BMDC, University, and institutional regulations.
Contribute to departmental planning and development initiatives.
Student Supervision
Provide academic guidance and counseling to students.
Supervise interns, residents, and junior faculty members.
Monitor student performance and provide constructive feedback.
Professional Development
Stay updated with advances in physiology and medical education.
Participate in faculty development programs and continuing medical education activities.
Maintain professional and ethical standards at all times.
Clinical Responsibilities (if applicable)
Participate in hospital-based academic and interdisciplinary activities.
Collaborate with clinical departments to integrate basic science education with clinical practice.
Educational Requirements
MBBS degree from a recognized medical institution.
FCPS / MD / MPhil / PhD or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Physiology.
Valid registration with Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC).
Experience Requirements
As per BMDC and affiliated University criteria for the position.
Demonstrated involvement in research and academic publications.
Experience in teaching Physiology in a recognized medical college will be preferred.
