∎ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Responsible to develop, design and analyze sector specific gender mainstreaming (GM) scope and priorities in project stockholder and projects partners.
∎ Responsible for advice and thematic support on gender mainstreaming within the project.
∎ Develop gender equality tools, frameworks, checklists and indicators to strengthen gender mainstreaming technical support as per project requirement.
∎ Ensure facilitation and regular coordination with project management and partner’s team for effective collaboration.
∎ Responsible to conduct gender assessment and plan to improve the GM capacity of the project’s staff.
∎ Ensure develop GM critical reports during field visits, consistent with the priorities established in the work plan.
∎ Support monitoring and evaluation and knowledge management team to ensure result tracking of gender responsive work environment as required.
∎ Ensure design and develop gender equality tools, frameworks, checklists, and indicators to strengthen gender mainstreaming in the project.
∎ Support to analysis of Gender analysis and produce case story booklet, events report, learning report as required.
∎ Monitor implementation progress of the gender mainstreaming interventions and ensure technical and strategic input.
∎ Provide advice, direction and support to different team to achieve impact on gender and women’s empowerment.
∎ Coordinate, develop and maintain key professional networks, relationships with partners, national agencies, civil society organization’s/ women’s organization’s to ensure gender is integrated in wider initiatives, and to promote the partners’ participation in coordination systems at the local level.

∎ UDDOM project aims to empower climate-vulnerable communities in Bagerhat, Sunamganj, and Jamalpur districts of Bangladesh to cope with and mitigate the impacts of climate change-induced disasters. By focusing on strengthening local government institutions and providing access to financial resources, crop insurance, and climate-smart agricultural practices, the project seeks to enhance the resilience of both communities and local governance structures. Through initiatives such as “Adaptation Clinics” for climate-smart agriculture, the provision of financial services, and the construction of climate-resilient infrastructure including water facilities and housing, UDDOM integrates proven adaptive solutions with locally developed strategies. Additionally, the project endeavors to improve early warning systems and facilitate early action to better prepare communities for future climate-induced disasters. Over a span of 60 months, UDDOM aims to foster sustainable development and resilience in the face of increasingly frequent and severe climate-related challenges.
∎ JOB PURPOSE: BRAC is seeking qualified Specialist, Gender, for the USAID funded “Community-led Climate Smart Innovations to Address Climate Change Impacts (UDDOM)” project awarded on March 2024 and expected to run for 5 years.
∎ The position is responsible for gender mainstreaming initiatives across “Community-led Climate Smart Innovations to Address Climate Change Impacts (UDDOM) project” following the BRACs Gender policy with the guidance of COP. S/he will ensure a gender lens is used in all sector interventions, including attention to women and other vulnerable groups in the project targeting. Ensure produce the quality of knowledge products related to GM issues with ensuring national and international standard. Ensure strengthen the quality of the IEC and BCC materials to achieve the ultimate goals of capacity development interventions in terms of gender mainstreaming initiatives. Also, the position will provide operational supports for partner’s maintaining the BRACs Gender policy.
∎ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
