Job Context:

∎ Expected Joining Date: 15 January 2022
∎ The Protibesh project is funded by USAID which focuses on three result areas including i) Strengthening environmental governance and management; ii) Mitigating biodiversity threats and iii) Advancement of market-based incentives that promote sustainable natural resources management under the Development Objective "Strengthened Resilience to Natural Hazards." The goal of Protibesh is to improve ecosystem conservation in and around targeted key biodiversity areas of Bangladesh such as northeast haor areas and southwest Sundarbans. CNRS will be engaged in implementing project activities at the ground level with the technical support of Chemonics International.
∎ Job Nature: Full-time (up to May 2026)
∎ Job Location: Any location of North-East and South-West Region of Bangladesh

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Overall implementation at site and touch point for the Regional and Dhaka based Protibesh teams including component managers and cross cutting technical managers.
∎ Oversees and facilitates technical and other engagement issues related to wetland and forest conservation at site level.
∎ Coordinates delivery of support to site-level.
∎ Support reviews of management plans
∎ Support RIMS, FRSS, and SMART
∎ Liaise with government counterparts including Department of Fisheries, Forest Department, Department of Land and local administration.
∎ Illustrative activities:
∎ Conduct and coordinate day to day field facilitation for successful implementation of Protibesh projects planned under different component including cross cutting issues
∎ Ensure financial and administrative supports for the Site teams for smooth and successful implementation of field activities within stipulated timeframe
∎ Coordinate and ensure technical supports from the region and Dhaka for the site teams
∎ Ensure all the Protibesh activities carry out according to work plan deliverables, following organizational procedures, and with quality
∎ Ensure, organize, and conduct different trainings, workshops and communication and outreach events, etc.
∎ Regular and routine visits at the project sites under Protibesh and CMOs/CBOs
∎ Monitor progress of the planned activities and ensure timely submission of technical reports and grants deliverables
∎ Ensure maintenance of electronic and hardcopy files, documents of Protibesh and grantees
∎ Verify data enter into the Protibesh MIS system by the facilitators
∎ Perform any other task as and when assigned by the CNRS and Protibesh management.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5-year experience working with multiple stakeholders and managing grantees for donor-funded programming, notably in the area of biodiversity conservations, Natural Resource Management (NRM) and marker-based alternative livelihoods development including 2 year at managerial level.
∎ Having excellent understanding on local contexts, co-management, conservation, country policies, rules and acts related to forest and wetland.
∎ Strong ability in working with GoB systems.
∎ Having excellent communication, Facilitation and motivational skill
∎ Understanding on local culture and languages.
∎ Excellent reporting skill in English
∎ Abilities to undertake extensive travel to village level
∎ To protect children in connection and uphold safeguarding principles
∎ Effective computer literacy and Tab & web-based MIS operation
∎ Having problem solving and prompt decision making capacity
∎ Ability to work under pressure
∎ Having non-discriminatory and gender sensitive perception
∎ Willingness and ability to drive motorcycle in the field as and when required; Valid driving license is an added advantage
∎ Efficient computer literacy (especially in MS Office applications)

Salary:
∎ BDT 62,040/month and other admissible benefits.
