Skills and Abilities

• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in AutoCAD, architectural design, and relevant software applications.

• Excellent organizational, coordination, planning, and time-management skills.

• Sound technical knowledge and understanding of shelter construction, design, and implementation.

• Self-motivated, proactive, well-organized, and capable of demonstrating leadership and initiative.

• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Willingness and ability to undertake regular field visits and supervise construction activities at project sites.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in both English and Bangla.

Red Cross - Red Crescent (RCRC) Movement is the largest volunteer organization in the world. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) is a national society of the Movement, constituted on 31 March 1973 by the President's Order No. 26 with retrospective effect from 16 December 1971. This is the biggest humanitarian organization in Bangladesh. As an auxiliary to the government in the Disaster Management field, BDRCS has provided humanitarian assistance to vulnerable people over the last 55 years and has undertaken a wide range of activities in humanitarian response, disaster management, health, capacity building, displacement, Refugee Relief/ Population movement Operation and promoting Red Cross/ Red Crescent ideals and principles.

Currently, the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society is looking for suitable Bangladeshi candidates for the following positions in its Bhasan Char Operation (BCO):

Duration of contract: Initially up to 30th April 2027 (with the possibility of extension).

Reporting to: Director, Bhasan Char Operation.

Duty station: Bhasan Char Island under Chittagong.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Plan, design, prepare, implement, and supervise construction and shelter-related activities in accordance with project requirements and technical standards.
• Develop shelter designs, technical drawings, and project plans using AutoCAD software.
• Supervise shelter construction activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, quality standards, technical specifications, and required quantities.
• Assist in preparing the technical sections of project proposals and reports, and prepare progress reports within the stipulated deadlines.
• Review, verify, and maintain all shelter-related documentation and records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor project progress and submit regular reports on construction quality, quantity, and implementation status to the Project Manager.
• Develop appropriate tools and methodologies for data collection, monitoring, and analysis.
• Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly quality assurance and progress reports to the Project Manager.
• Maintain, organize, and regularly update the project filing system and relevant documentation.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Line Manager in support of project objectives.

• Salary Range: Up to BDT. 60,000/- (Monthly Consolidated).
