Job Responsibilities:
∎ Save the Children (SC) Bangladesh invites applications for the position of Senior Technical Manager, a role of paramount importance within our Education in Emergency (EiE) initiatives in Cox's Bazar. SC is seeking a seasoned and dedicated professional to provide visionary leadership, technical excellence, and operational support, ensuring the optimal execution and impact of our education programs among conflict-affected and displaced populations. This is a senior and strategic leadership role, responsible for providing direction and guidance to a team of technical experts, developing, and implementing innovative and effective EiE programs, and ensuring the quality and impact of SC's education interventions for conflict-affected and displaced populations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of EiE principles and practices, as well as extensive experience in the Cox's Bazar context. They will be able to think strategically and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges, and they will have a proven track record of managing and delivering high-quality EiE programs.
∎ The Senior Technical Manager will play a key role in developing and implementing SC's EiE strategy in Cox's Bazar. This will involve working closely with the Government, donors, Cox's Bazar education sector, and other stakeholders to ensure that SC's programs are aligned with national and international standards and priorities. The Senior Technical Manager will also be responsible for providing guidance for developing and delivering training and capacity-building programs for SC staff and partners, and for monitoring and evaluating the impact of SC's EiE programs. He will work under the direct supervision of Senior manager, EiE. This position will work under the technical guidance of the Education Advisor of SC Bangladesh and work closely with the Senior Manager, ECW. He will be the responsible person for ensuring all EiE Project's quality report preparation and submission.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 07 years of proven experience working in the Education sector with a minimum 03 years working in Education in emergency aspects in a technical role.
∎ Previous experience and strong skills in teacher professional development and curriculum development.
∎ Ability to identify quality issues in education within the given context and provide support for implementing field-level solutions.
∎ Experience in capacity building and enhancing the understanding of education program implementation among various stakeholders.
∎ Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken in English.
∎ Flexibility and adaptability to work in challenging and potentially insecure environments.
∎ Commitment to child rights, Save the Children's mission and principles, and adherence to humanitarian standards such as the Sphere Charter, INEE Minimum Standards and the Code of Conduct, with a focus on the organization's mandate and child-centered approach.
∎ Work closely with the NBD Team to Programme Design, Development, and Review new concept notes and project proposal development, etc.
∎ Academic background in Education is highly desirable.
∎ Previous experience in a humanitarian context with a renowned organization.
∎ Proficiency in using established inter-agency standards or Save the Children International (SCI) packages related to EiE, such as the INEE Minimum Standards, TICC (Teachers in Crisis Contexts), LWiE (Literacy and Writing in Emergencies), PSS/PFA (Psychosocial Support/ Psychological First Aid), Life Skills, DRR (Disaster Risk Reduction), etc.
∎ Experience in implementing or providing technical advice on education in emergency programs.
∎ Experience working with and supporting local implementing partners.
