Education:

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS)

• MBBS with three (03) years` experiences in relevant field.

• Having part 1 /Phase A in FCPS/MD/MRCP will be highly preferred.

• Age At most 40 years

• Additional training or qualification in relevant discipline will get preference.

• Sound Knowledge of collecting patient history talking and with all general & surgical needs.

• Attitude: Caring & Patient centered; Target oriented & proactive to bring changes.

• Service delivery through good relations with patients (Workers & Staff), respect for the patient`s right, good relations with colleagues; and observance of professional ethical obligations.

• Keep clear and accurate medical records.

Job Summary:-

The Senior Medical Officer (SMO) – Medicine & Allied is responsible for delivering comprehensive medical care to patients across General Medicine and related specialties, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of clinical excellence, ethics, and patient safety. The SMO oversees the diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions, supervises junior medical staff, and coordinates with other specialties to provide integrated and evidence-based patient care.

Key Responsibilities:-

A. Clinical Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, and manage patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

• Provide comprehensive medical care in General Medicine and Allied specialties (e.g., Cardiology, Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Neuro Medicine, Nephrology).

• Attend and manage medical emergencies and acute cases.

• Conduct daily ward rounds and monitor patient progress.

• Ensure accurate documentation of patient history, treatment, and outcomes.

• Ensure adherence to medical ethics, patient confidentiality, and hospital policies.

B. Supervisory & Teaching Responsibilities

• Supervise Medical Officers, Residents, and Interns in day-to-day clinical work.

• Conduct teaching rounds, clinical case presentations, and CME (Continuing Medical Education) sessions.

• Provide mentorship and performance feedback to junior doctors.

• Support the academic and training activities of the department.

C. Administrative & Quality Responsibilities

• Participate in departmental and hospital administrative meetings.

• Assist in policy formulation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and clinical protocols.

• Ensure compliance with accreditation and quality standards

• Participate in clinical audits, mortality and morbidity meetings, and root-cause analyses.

• Contribute to quality improvement, infection control, and patient safety initiatives.

D. Research & Development Responsibilities

• Participate in or initiate research activities in the field of Medicine and Allied specialties.

• Publish or present clinical findings in national/international forums.

• Stay updated with recent advancements in medical science and integrate evidence-based practices.

E. Community & Preventive Health Responsibilities

• Participate in public health initiatives, screening programs, and community outreach.
