Educational Requirements:
∎ Masters in Social Science with Masters in Public Health (MPH) major in reproductive health, or related field or equivalent experience
∎ Or, MBBS with Masters in Public Health (MPH) major in reproductive health/Masters in Population Sciences/ Master of Science in Health Economics or, Development Studies
∎ A PhD holder from a reputed university will be given preference

Job Context:
∎ HOPE Foundation for Women and Children of Bangladesh was established in 1999 as a non-profit organization for providing quality health care services to the poor and underserved people in Bangladesh. HOPE is uniquely poised and dedicated to serving the needs that has made a significant impact in improving maternal and child health in Bangladesh. HOPE has the trust of the community and diligently works in collaboration with government and NGO partners towards systematic long-term changes in health sector of Bangladesh.
∎ Senior Manager, Maternal Health will be working in close coordination of Country Director and liaison with him for reporting to HOPE Foundation Head Office located in USA as per their requirement. S/he will be responsible for overall leadership for providing technical and managerial support to the implementation of HOPE`s maternal health Projects following the Bangladesh national guidelines, technical standards and operating procedures for the promotion of quality maternal and newborn care services in the Cox`s Bazar district. S/he will provide adequate support to strengthening the facilities for delivering quality maternity care services as per the government priority. The Senior Manager, Maternal Health will also provide support to the project staff for promoting quality normal deliveryservices through strengthening the existing healthcare system and facilitate analysis and use of service data for improving quality maternity and newborn care services in the project intervention area.
∎ Senior Manager, Maternal Health will also be actively engaged in developing partnership with local level GoB, national & international NGOs and other development partners. She/he will assist the Project staff and also the Coordinators in preparing project activity planning, budgeting, logistics and coordination in timely manner for various activities including training & workshops, progress review meeting, donor meetings, Advocacy Meeting, courtyard meeting, health sessions in addition to regular monitoring and supervision activities.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead the implementation of the assigned projects, identify the strategies and requirements for smooth implementation, and assist operations to strengthen the program with the guidance of the Country Director and the senior management of HOPE Foundation.
∎ Ensure that project implementation is efficient, effective, timely and done according to prescribed approaches as well as planned ways, and provide with suggestions about implementation fine tuning within the implemented areas.
∎ Ensure that the maternity and newborn care service delivery performed following national guidelines, technical standards and operating procedures.
∎ Performs and documents maternal and newborn health needs assessments and identifies risk factors for developing healthcare service delivery plan.
∎ Provide extensive input and technical support to project plans and program design; coordinate effectively with senior management of HOPE Foundation, development partners and technical sector colleagues and consultants.
∎ Represent HOPE Foundation at different forums, meetings, seminars, workshops, and conference held both at national and international levels.
∎ Ensure frequent and regular supportive supervision and monitoring visits together with project staff, donors and senior management of HOPE.
∎ Liaise with the relevant local authorities of the Government (Civil Surgeons, DDFP, UHFPO, UFPO, MO-MCH&FP etc.), relevant departments of professional bodies (OGSB, Pediatric Association of Bangladesh, Neonatological Society of Bangladesh, Perinatal Society of Bangladesh etc.) and other stakeholders.
∎ Involved in procurement process and logistics arrangement and assist the relevant staff to prepare the list of medical supplies and required logistics prior to budgeting.
∎ Responsible for timely and properly burning of project funds. With the guidance of Country Director initiate working with the team to submit fund request to respective donor on time.
∎ Involve and participate in the staff recruitment process and time to time share the status of the staff in the health facilities with the donor.
∎ Guide the project staff to prepare quarterly, annual and other required reports within deadline and will support the development of documents for dissemination of information and best practices.
∎ The Senior Manager will guide and assist the M&E Team in preparing project report and also ensure proper project data recording in the assigned health facilities, support the compilation of data and generation of quality project reports as per requirement of respective donor and also for the HOPE Foundation Head Office.
∎ Undertake periodical field visit to monitor the progress of the project activities and also accompanying and facilitating high officials of Government and donors during visiting project implementation areas.
