Project: 400-bed multi-specialty tertiary care hospital
Bangladesh Medical Science & Technology Ltd. is developing a 400-bed multi-specialty hospital in Mirpur, Dhaka and is seeking an experienced Senior Biomedical Engineer to lead medical equipment planning, procurement, integration, commissioning, and lifecycle management.
Prepare department-wise medical equipment plans for ICU, OT, Emergency, Imaging, Laboratory, Dialysis, CSSD, Oncology, Endoscopy, OPD/IPD, and Diagnostics.
Define equipment specifications, clinical requirements, quantities, preferred brands, configurations, and technical standards.
Support procurement through BOQ preparation, technical evaluation, tender review, vendor comparison, price benchmarking, and negotiation support.
Coordinate with architects, MEP consultants, clinical teams, and project teams to ensure infrastructure readiness for equipment installation.
Review architectural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, medical gas, and room layout drawings to identify technical gaps.
Supervise installation, testing, calibration, commissioning, documentation, handover, and user training.
Develop preventive maintenance plans, asset management systems, service contract strategies, warranty tracking, and spare parts planning.
Advise management on technology selection, phased procurement, equipment prioritization, vendor selection, and long-term sustainability.
Ensure equipment planning aligns with infection control, patient safety, clinical workflow, regulatory requirements, and international hospital standards.
Stay updated on the latest developments in medical equipment, healthcare technology, digital health, and diagnostic/therapeutic innovations.
Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 8 years of relevant biomedical engineering experience.
Experience in corporate hospitals, tertiary care hospitals, or large healthcare projects is essential.
Strong knowledge of medical equipment planning, procurement, BOQs, vendor evaluation, installation, commissioning, and MEP coordination.
Familiarity with Bangladesh’s healthcare equipment market, regulatory environment, vendors, suppliers, and service ecosystem.
Knowledge of JCI standards, infection control, hospital safety standards, and modern healthcare technologies will be considered an advantage.
Strong communication and coordination skills with doctors, nurses, architects, MEP consultants, contractors, vendors, and management.
Ability to independently identify technical gaps, assess risks, and recommend practical solutions.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in a large corporate hospital or hospital project and understand both the clinical and technical sides of medical equipment planning. The candidate should be forward-thinking, commercially aware, and able to help BMSTL make cost-effective, future-ready equipment decisions.
