Responsibilities & Context:
Undertake commissioning, routine performance testing, and quality control of X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound equipment.
Act as the radiation protection advisor, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and optimizing patient doses (balancing image quality with radiation dose).
Provide expertise to radiologists, radiographers, and managers regarding equipment specifications, procurement, and technical problems.
Perform assessments of patient doses (dosimetry) and conduct audits to ensure radiation doses are within legal and safe limits.
Investigate incidents of unusual images, equipment faults, or accidental radiation exposure
