Job Responsibilities:
∎ This position will support a Research Molecular Biologist conducting Research on improvement of disease resistance and reproductive function in fish.
∎ Collecting, preparing, evaluating and verifying samples and keep record for the future.
∎ Actively participating in one or more phases of the research process by performing a variety of complex technical duties, in a laboratory, field and common to the assigned area of work.( Such duties include extracting DNA or RNA from fish tissues, performing PCR, Real time PCR, cloning, sequencing, genotyping, cell culture work under sterile conditions, maintenance of microbiological and cell inventory).
∎ Support general hatchery and aquaculture operations to help maintain a hatchery and fisheries programs.
∎ Monitor and ensure adequate aquaculture health, fish production and care.
∎ Diagnose, recommend, and administer appropriate treatments for sick fish, including identifying common parasites.
∎ Collect biological data from various fish species, for example length, weight, sex, and age.
