∎ Visual Communication Ltd., is a profitable organization, is implementing a five year long project on Community Nutrition and Health Activity (CNHA) supported by USAID. Under this CNHA, Visual Communication Ltd. will work with different ministries specially MoHFW of the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) at the national, regional and local levels, to improve nutrition status though strengthening community health system and support the effective implementation of the Second National Plan of Action for Nutrition (NPAN2). This will work at multiple levels of local government institutions, specifically with the Nutrition Committees at the district, upazilla and union levels - focusing on community health system and strengthening Core Team approach and local nutrition-governance mechanisms. The project will facilitate developing solutions emerging from communities, government line departments, and from the private sector. This project will replicate proven best practices to scale up innovative local governance models for better nutrition outcomes by transforming UDCC to nutrition outcome. Digital solutions related to health and Nutrition services is one of the key strategies to improve nutrition. The project intends to impact on several of the core challenges faced by selected districts in North, Haor, Padma Basin and Coastal of Bangladesh.
∎ The SBCC Technical Officer is entrusted with responsible for the strategic CNHA plan implementation, capacity building trainings, and community mobilization events. The incumbent is responsible to ensure the compliance of USAID and VISCOM`s policy/procedures in project operation and expenditure. S/he is responsible that all Partner Consortium members and project staff oriented and followed policies and procedures defined by the USAID and financial management at all levels.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ I. Responsibilities and Tasks: Responsible for the strategic CNHA plan implementation, capacity building trainings, and community mobilization events.
∎ Train NGO staff to implement the SBCC implementation plan
∎ Orient and train NGO staff on new tools and campaign materials
∎ Support implementation of local campaigns, conduct the special events, branding activities and advocacy meetings.
∎ Facilitate events and the post-event interactions with audiences to enhance project awareness
∎ Provide supportive engagement to liaison with community leaders, brand ambassadors for advocacy towards project transition
∎ Conduct regular field visits to provide trainings and ensure that all activities are carried out with good quality.
∎ Report on best practices, submit interesting stories, video uploads of events, community celebrity endorsements for the project newsletter and websites.
∎ Update the Team Leader regarding the SBCC field activities on a regular basis.
∎ Document the process, issues, challenges and recommendations for improvements/scaling up SBCC and community mobilization interventions in the areas.
∎ Ensure timely effective communications within the respective organization and with stakeholders at all level.
∎ Report to the Team Leader after completion of your assignment within due time.
∎ II. Reporting to: Team Leader and or SBCC Advisor of CNHA
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of 10 years of experience in planning, and implementing SBCC/BCC implementation in community-level.
∎ Should have the ability to conduct cost analysis.
∎ Familiarity with USAID policies and procedures.
∎ Demonstrated ability to coordinate closely with government staff and build their capacity.
∎ Proven ability to set priorities, multi-task, and work collaboratively.
∎ Excellent computer skills especially in MS word, Excel and experience with using email.
∎ Experience to use MEL application
∎ Excellent oral and written English skills.
