Educational Requirements:

∎ The Maternal and Child Health division of icddr,b offers a fellowship programme (Research Fellow) for individuals who are interested in developing a career in public health research and currently in the formative stage. The Research Fellow will work under direct supervision of eminent public health researchers and receive hands-on training, exposure, experience at icddr,b. The fellowship programme is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and performance of the individuals to become an independent researcher at icddr,b.
∎ Contract Type and duration: Duration will be 1 year with a possibility of extension subject to performance.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Research Fellow will be reporting to the PI or delegate. The fellow is expected to contribute in evidence synthesis under the guidance of the PI. Some of the specific responsibilities may include (assist the PI in):
∎ Develop search strategies for systematic reviews;
∎ Execute search strategies for systematic reviews in international databases;
∎ Perform screening and data extraction from published articles;
∎ Conduct narrative synthesis and meta-analysis;
∎ Write technical reports and briefs;
∎ Develop manuscripts.

∎ Young, bright individuals who meet the following criteria and are aspiring to develop their career as public health researchers at icddr,b are encouraged to apply.
∎ Strong interpersonal and excellent communication and writing skills in English;
∎ Must have strong critical thinking skills, ability to identify substantive problems and creative capacity to resolve these problems. S/he should be proactive, dynamic, and capable of working independently.

Salary:
∎ Tk 51,090/- per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances;

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ The progress of the Research Fellows will be monitored and evaluated. On successful completion of training and final evaluation, the Fellow will be awarded certificates;
∎ Income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen; Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
