Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in the subject taught or in Education (B.Ed., BA, BSc, MA, MSc, MEd).
Minimum 2 years of teaching experience at K–12 level (classroom or online), or 3+ years of relevant industry experience for subjects like ICT/Programming, Career Education, and Life Skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in the language of instruction (English for most subjects, Arabic for Arabic/Qur'an/Islamic Studies).
Stable home internet (≥10 Mbps upload), webcam, headset, quiet teaching room with neutral background.
Comfort with online classroom tools: Zoom, Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams, digital whiteboard apps, screen-sharing.
Acceptance of Smart Academy's Islamic ethos, modesty code, and Child Safeguarding Policy.
Two professional references (current/recent supervisors).

Preferred Qualifications:
M.Ed., PGDE, or international teaching certification (PGCE, iPGCE, Cambridge Professional Development Qualifications).
Experience teaching the Cambridge Lower Secondary / IGCSE / O-Level curriculum or the Bangladesh NCTB national curriculum.
For Islamic-stream teachers: Alim/Fazil/Kamil degree, formal Tajweed Ijazah, or Madinah / Al-Azhar / IIUM training.

2. Position Purpose
Deliver full-credit, syllabus-aligned online classes to Smart Academy students with the same accountability and quality standard as on-campus teachers.
Expand the pool of expert teachers we can offer rural children without paying full-time relocation costs.
Bring international and metropolitan teaching experience into a rural Bangladeshi classroom — at scale.

4. Key Responsibilities
Instruction
Plan and deliver the assigned periods per week aligned to the school's tri-stream curriculum (Cambridge CAIE + NCTB + Islamic integration).
Integrate Islamic values naturally and meaningfully — never forced, never absent.
Use the school's smart-board mirror, digital portal, and online whiteboard tools to keep online classes interactive.
Differentiate instruction for mixed-ability groups; flag students needing remediation or enrichment.
Set homework and assessments aligned with school assessment frameworks.
Assessment & Reporting
Prepare and mark formative and summative assessments; submit grades to the school portal within 3 school days.
Maintain accurate online attendance and class records.
Contribute to term reports, parent–teacher meetings (via Zoom), and progress reviews.
Flag at-risk students to the class teacher and Academic Affairs Lead within 7 days of identifying concern.
Collaboration
Coordinate weekly with the on-campus co-teacher for class handover, discipline notes, and lesson-flow alignment.
Attend weekly Professional Learning Community (PLC) sessions for your subject/phase (online).
Attend monthly all-staff meetings (online) and end-of-term reflection days.
Communicate with parents through approved channels only (school portal, Zoom, supervised WhatsApp groups) — never direct personal contact.
Compliance
Follow the school's Child Safeguarding Policy, Digital Conduct Policy, and Islamic modesty code (dress, language, screen background).
Complete the school's annual safeguarding refresher.
Honour the Bangladesh academic calendar (Saturday–Thursday teaching, Friday off) regardless of home time zone.
Submit termly self-reflection and goal-setting to the Teachers' Trainer.
Continuous Improvement
Participate in all teacher trainings delivered by the school's Teachers' Trainer (see companion JD).
Complete a minimum of 20 hours of CPD per academic year.
Welcome lesson observations (minimum 2 per term) by the Academic Director or Teachers' Trainer; act on feedback within 30 days.
5. Cross-Role Standards
Islamic ethos & conduct: Modesty code applies in person and on camera. No music in lessons unless explicitly permitted. Begin and end with the Islamic greeting and space for du'a.
Child safeguarding: Mandatory annual training; no private one-to-one digital channels with students; concerns reported to the Designated Safeguarding Lead within 24 hours.
Digital conduct & data: Only school-issued/approved tools; no student photos, work samples, or personal data on personal devices without explicit consent; full adherence to Bangladesh Personal Data Protection norms.
