Community Engagement: Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with community members, leaders, and local organizations.

Communication Skills: Proficient in local dialects with strong verbal communication skills to facilitate training and share information effectively.

Problem Solving: Ability to identify issues in the field and work proactively with the Upazila Coordinator to address them.

Adaptability: Willingness to work in challenging field conditions and adapt to the evolving needs of the project.

Documentation: Basic skills in data collection, KOBO and reporting to provide accurate updates on project activities.

Others :Language: Fluency in the local language of the project area is essential.

Travel: Frequent travel within assigned Union and nearby areas for fieldwork and community engagement activities.

Position Title  : Field Facilitator (Union Level)

Project               : Climate Resilient Smart Agri Connect : Enhancing Climate Resilience, Environment-Friendly & Smart Agro-Based Food Security Project.

Duty Station    : Assigned Unions under Dakhuf, Koyra upazila - Khulna & Hizla & Muladi under Barisal Districts.

Reports to          : Upazila Coordinator.

Contract Type   : Fixed term, Duration     : 20 months

Position Overview

The Field Facilitator will be responsible for implementing the project activities at the grassroots level, focusing on direct engagement with local communities and farmers.

As a front line representative of the project, the Field Facilitator will work closely with community members to promote climate-smart agricultural practices, conduct training sessions, activities, and support the sustainability of project interventions.

The role requires a strong commitment to community development, a passion for environmental sustainability, and a proactive approach to addressing challenges in the field.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Community Engagement and Mobilization (40%) :

Build trust and rapport with community members to facilitate active participation in project activities.

Conduct awareness sessions on climate-smart agriculture, food security, and environmental sustainability tailored to the needs of local farmers and community groups.

Organize community meetings, focus group discussions, and farmer forums to gather input and foster a sense of ownership among participants.

Identify potential beneficiaries and help form farmer groups, climate resilience committees, and other relevant community structures.

2. Support in Training and Capacity Building (30%) :

Assist in organizing and conducting field-based training sessions on sustainable farming practices, including water conservation, crop diversification, and soil management.

Demonstrate practical techniques in climate-resilient agriculture to ensure farmers understand and adopt best practices.

Provide on-the-ground support to community members during and after training sessions to reinforce learning and address any challenges in applying new techniques.

Maintain consistent follow-up with farmers to monitor their progress and encourage continuous learning. 

3. Data Collection and Monitoring (20%) :

Collect and record data on crop production, farmer attendance at training sessions, and community participation in project activities.

Monitor and document progress against key performance indicators, reporting any challenges or successes to the Upazila Coordinator.

Conduct periodic surveys and assessments to gather information on project impact, community feedback, and areas for improvement.

Assist in organizing site visits for project staff, donors, or stakeholders, providing necessary information and background on project activities.

4. Coordination and Reporting (10%) :

Work closely with the Upazila Coordinator and Technical Officers to ensure timely communication and coordination of activities.

Prepare and submit regular reports on field activities, including daily updates, weekly summaries, and monthly progress reports, Coordination with local stakeholders.

Participate in project review meetings, sharing observations from the field to contribute to strategic planning and decision-making.

Required Qualifications and Experience :

Education: Minimum of HSC/diploma or equivalent; preference diploma or degree in Agriculture, Social Work, or related fields.

Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience working in community-based projects, preferably in agriculture, climate resilience, or rural development.

Technical Knowledge: Basic knowledge of agricultural practices, community mobilization, and climate change impacts on agriculture.

Skills: Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with experience in community engagement.
