∎ Project Title: ASHSHASH (For Men and Women Who Have Escaped Trafficking in Bangladesh)
∎ PROJECT BACKGROUND:
∎ Ashshash: For Men and Women Who Have Escaped Trafficking (Phase-II), is funded by the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh and implemented by.Theproject will support human trafficking survivors withsustainable social and economic reintegration into their respective communities and provide support-services that will ensure their wellbeing and self-sufficiency. The survivors willbe provided psychosocial counseling support along with other social services andfacilitated opportunities for skills-devolvement and entrepreneurship training. Through which, the economic empowerment of the survivors will also be ensured in the forms of wage-based and self-employment, and other income generational opportunities. The main objective of the project isto ensure that "women and men who have escaped trafficking will restore their dignity and wellbeing and become self-sufficient". Furthermore, Ashshash will reach people in the project`sworking areas;either directly or indirectly, through awareness-raising activities on factors that make people vulnerable to human trafficking, and to ensure the prevention of human trafficking.
∎ The four-year-longsecond phase of Ashshash project will provide comprehensive and personalized packagesof service-provision to the survivors of humantrafficking in Bangladesh which includes a robust psychosocial counselling . The project will be implemented in tenof the most trafficking-prone areas across the country.
∎ POSITION SUMMARY:
∎ Psychosocial Counselorswilllead and provide the necessary psychosocial counseling services to human trafficking survivorsidentified by the Sustainable Reintegration Partners (SRPs). These counseling services will be provided based on the need of survivors following Ashshash`s process. And, these services will prepare the survivors for social and economic reintegration. The counselors must also demonstrate the necessary skillset and knowledge to provide tele-counseling support to the survivors, based on their contextual needs. As psychosocial counseling support will be an ongoing process until a survivor is completed the reintegration process. And the counselors must show openness and sensitivity when conducting sessions with the survivors.The counselors will be responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of information for each survivor. Trauma-informed and gender-sensitive approaches are a mandatory part of the counselor`s expected skillset. The counselors will also be responsible for providing counseling services to the survivors`families to create an enabling and sensitive environment at home. Counsellors also be responsible to conduct community session following counselling skills to demonstrate sensitivity and understanding toward the trafficking contexts of the survivors, and on the role of the community in the reintegration journey of a survivor. Counselors must also strictly follow Winrock International`s `Do No Harm` policy when communicating with and counseling with the survivors.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead and manage the overall provision of psychosocialcounseling services to human trafficking survivors,through Ashshash'sSRPs.
∎ Maintain proper discretion and confidentiality to build trust with the Men and Women Who Have Escaped Trafficking (survivor of human trafficking), their family and peers/community
∎ Conduct comprehensive Mental State Examination (MSE) of clients for enrollment in psychosocial counseling support service.
∎ Maintain a systemic and detailed case management process, maintaining privacyand confidentiality of the survivors.
∎ Lead and conduct a comprehensive 'Needs-Assessment'of the survivors to identify primarilythe social services (and secondarily, the economic services) that will be required for their specific contexts.
∎ Maintain survivors' confidentiality of information throughout the ongoing process of counseling, and build trust with their families, peers, and communities.
∎ Provide psychosocial counselling support to the survivors, their families and communities, based on their need and context following 'Do No Harm' principles throughout the reintegration process.
∎ Documentation, record keeping and maintain all kinds of forms/registers, reports, files, guideline and other documents related to his/her jurisdiction. e.g., counseling, psychosocial support, behavioral data collection etc.
∎ Support in providing career counselling and the follow-up support to the survivors at the throughout the economic empowerment process.
∎ Provide support to ensure baseline, mid-line, and final evaluations are conducted accurately, considering Winrock International's and the donor's requirements;and
∎ Assist to prepare monthly, quarterly and other periodical reports as per guideline and requirement of Ashshash.
∎ Maintain close liaison with other relevant stakeholders from government and non-government organizations.
∎ Participate in different training, meeting, workshop, seminar, symposium organized by the project and other counterpart.
∎ Other duties, as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Having experience on working with the trafficking survivors or relevant group in providing psychosocial counselling
∎ Having certificationupon completion ofcourses in psychosocial counselling services.
∎ Experiencein reintegration services for human trafficking survivors, or vulnerable and at-risk groups.
∎ Experiencewiththe detailed documentation of providing counseling services to trafficking survivors or vulnerable and at-risk groups, and detailed reporting mechanisms;
∎ Perceived positive attitude and sensitivity to support vulnerable and at-risk groups, and communities.
∎ Strong understanding of gender and diversity issues;
∎ Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills; and
∎ Basic computer proficiency: i.e. MS Office, database management, coordination via email, project-specific management information systems, etc.
∎ Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 30 to 35 years (For more experienced candidates, the age limit will be relaxed)
Salary: Tk. 25000 (Monthly)
