Basic medical training is required.
Training in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) and basic surgical skill is an advantage.
EXPIRIENCE: • Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare settings.
• Experience in primary healthcare centers or clinics is preferred.
• Experience in humanitarian or emergency settings is an asset.
SKILLS: • Basic clinical skills and patient care knowledge.
• Ability to measure vital signs (BP, temperature, pulse, respiration).
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Ability to organize patient flow efficiently.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control (IPC).

JOB SUMMARY: The Project Officer (Medical Assistant) supports the General Practice in delivering high-quality primary healthcare services. The role includes assisting in patient consultations, preparing patients for examination, supporting basic clinical procedures, maintaining patient flow, and ensuring proper documentation. The position plays a key role in ensuring efficient clinic operations, patient safety, and adherence to clinical and infection prevention standards in humanitarian settings.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Objective 1: Support clinical consultations and basic medical procedures.
• Assist the GP during patient consultations and examinations.
• Measure and record vital signs accurately.
• Prepare patients for examination and basic procedures.
• Support minor procedures under supervision.
Objective 2: Manage patient flow and service organization.
• Organize patient queues and ensure orderly movement within the clinic.
• Guide patients to appropriate service points.
• Help reduce overcrowding and waiting time.
• Prioritize vulnerable cases (elderly, pregnant women, persons with disabilities).
Objective 3: Ensure infection prevention and patient safety.
• Follow infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols strictly.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of consultation areas.
• Prepare and disinfect medical equipment before and after use.
• Ensure proper waste segregation and disposal.
Objective 4: Support documentation and reporting.
• Assist in recording patient information and service data.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records.
• Support daily reporting and clinic registers.
• Ensure accurate and organized documentation.
Objective 5: Support primary healthcare services delivery.
• Assist in triage and basic patient screening.
• Support management of common illnesses under supervision.
• Provide basic health education to patients.
• Support vaccination, nutrition, and other PHC services when required.
Objective 6: Support outreach and emergency response activities.
• Assist in mobile clinic and outreach activities.
• Support emergency cases and high patient load situations.
• Assist in health campaigns and public health interventions.
• Adapt to changing field conditions and priorities.
Objective 7: To ensure employees adhere to ethical standards, organizational policies, and legal requirements while always maintaining integrity and professional conduct.

Objective 8: Ensure the implementation of Qatar Charity’s safeguarding standards, including PSEA and GBV prevention, across all project activities to maintain a safe and accountable environment.
• Implement and monitor safeguarding measures, ensuring compliance with Qatar Charity’s PSEA and GBV policies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Abide by QC’s Child Protection and Safeguarding related policies to keep children and young people safe and to respond to concerns about a child's safety or wellbeing.
• Establish and maintain confidential, accessible reporting channels for safeguarding concerns and ensure timely response and escalation.
• Collaborate with HR and relevant departments to integrate safeguarding into field activities.
• Ensure risk assessments include safeguarding considerations and mitigation strategies for all project activities.
