Job Context:
∎ BAPSA is the implementing partner of Ipas Bangladesh in a project funded by Global Affairs Canada through HealthBridge Foundation in Canada titled `Improving Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in Dhaka` to improve availability and access of quality SRHR services particularly family planning, MR and Post-abortion care (PAC) services for poor and ultra-poor women and adolescents living urban areas of greater Dhaka. The project will also work to reduce SGBV by creating awareness among city dwellers. To ensure uninterrupted SRHR services during any public health emergency including COVID-19 pandemic, the project will also work for emergency preparedness and responses. The five-year project will be implemented from now till March 2026 in collaborate with city corporations` health authorities and their health programs, DGFP and DGHS, BGMEA and other stakeholders and partners.
∎ Program Officer- Facility Strengthening for ISRH project of BAPSA will support for service mapping specially for the selection of slum facilities including UPHCSDP clinics, BGMEA health centres, Garments clinic, and private practitioners for intervention. Program Officer- Facility Strengthening will identify resource gaps at selected facilities in the project areas and support for facility readiness for ensuring quality provision of SRH services. S/he is responsible for the logistics management, maintenance, and renovation of the selected health facilities. Will support for planning, coordination, and strategy development for ensuring the long-term improvement of the facilities.
∎ This position will be based at Ipas Bangladesh office at Dhaka. Program Officer- Facility Strengthening will be supervised by the Program Manager for ISRHR project of BAPSA.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide support in facility assessment to identify resource gaps and scope of work for facility renovation.
∎ Supports for renovation at selected facilities to ensure minimum standard service environment for MR, PAC & contraceptive service provision
∎ Provides support for uninterrupted availability of RH commodities to selected health facilities at project areas.
∎ Provides support for uninterrupted availability of essential medical equipment and logistics at selected health facilities to provide MR, PAC, & contraceptive services
∎ Supports the establishment of training centers at three tertiary level facilities for implementation of MR, PAC & contraceptive service trainings
∎ Coordinates and communicates regularly with other partners and stakeholders to support technical assistance and service delivery in program
∎ Provides supervision and monitoring of logistics management and renovation activities and ensures that activities are aligned as per plan and regularly reported
∎ Work closely with Health authorities of project supported facilities to define needs and support for logistics management and renovation activities at selected health facilities.
∎ Ensure availability, proper use and timely maintenance of the necessary infrastructure and equipment at the health facilities.
