JOB SUMMARY: The Project Officer (Dental Medical Assistant) supports the Dentist in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality oral healthcare services within primary healthcare and mobile clinic settings. The role includes assisting in dental procedures, preparing instruments and materials, ensuring infection prevention and sterilization, and supporting patient flow and documentation. The position plays a key role in maintaining a clean, organized, and functional dental service environment in humanitarian contexts.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Objective 1: Support dental procedures and clinical services.
• Assist the Dentist during examinations and dental procedures.
• Prepare dental instruments, materials, and equipment before procedures.
• Provide chairside assistance during treatments.
• Ensure availability of required materials during clinical sessions.
Objective 2: Ensure infection prevention and sterilization standards.
• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize dental instruments after each use.
• Follow infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols strictly.
• Maintain cleanliness of dental equipment and working areas.
• Ensure safe disposal of medical and dental waste.
Objective 3: Manage patient flow and provide basic support.
• Prepare patients for dental procedures and ensure their comfort.
• Assist in organizing patient flow within the dental unit.
• Provide basic instructions to patients before and after procedures.
• Support communication between patients and the Dentist when needed.
Objective 4: Maintain documentation and supplies management.
• Assist in recording patient information and treatment details.
• Maintain stock of dental supplies and report shortages.
• Ensure proper storage of instruments and materials.
• Support inventory tracking and basic reporting tasks.
Objective 5: Ensure a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
• Maintain cleanliness of dental rooms and surrounding areas.
• Ensure all equipment is arranged and functioning properly.
• Report any equipment malfunction or safety concerns.
• Support preparation of the dental unit for daily operations.
Objective 6: Support outreach and emergency dental services.
• Assist in mobile dental clinics and outreach activities.
• Support emergency dental cases under supervision.
• Prepare portable equipment for field operations when required.
• Adapt to high patient loads and emergency situations.
Objective 7: To ensure employees adhere to ethical standards, organizational policies, and legal requirements while always maintaining integrity and professional conduct.

Objective 8: Ensure the implementation of Qatar Charity’s safeguarding standards, including PSEA and GBV prevention, across all project activities to maintain a safe and accountable environment.
• Implement and monitor safeguarding measures, ensuring compliance with Qatar Charity’s PSEA and GBV policies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Abide by QC’s Child Protection and Safeguarding related policies to keep children and young people safe and to respond to concerns about a child's safety or wellbeing.
• Establish and maintain confidential, accessible reporting channels for safeguarding concerns and ensure timely response and escalation.
• Collaborate with HR and relevant departments to integrate safeguarding into field activities.
• Ensure risk assessments include safeguarding considerations and mitigation strategies for all project activities.
