Job Context:
∎ Center for Natural Resource Studies (CNRS) is seeking potential candidates for the Project Officer Position for its "`Resilience Boat Resident Communities in Bangladesh" project funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) through Oxfam, Bangladesh.
∎ CNRS along with Oxfam in Bangladesh has initiated Phase 2 of the GROW Program to address major injustices in the food systems and promote sustainable management of natural resources and biodiversity within the context of a changing climate. The program aims to work for the marginalized, including small-scale farmers, growers and fishers of Bangladesh, considering that CO2 emissions are rising to meet an ever-increasing global demand, yet the ensued climate change related disasters are most affecting the ones least responsible for it. Floods, storms, droughts etc. are destroying their lives and livelihoods, biodiversity and ecosystems, causing irreversible blows to the country`s economy, costing millions of dollars as adaptions bills. While aligning with global goals of promoting greener technologies to reduce carbon emissions, Bangladesh as one of the country`s most vulnerable to these disasters needs to invest more in preserving and building carbon sinks and implementing mass climate change-related adaptation plans. Considering climate finance/climate budgeting for adaptation as comparatively new and many challenges are existing in prioritizing and mobilizing climate adaptation needs through the national and local level budgeting mechanism, the program intends to do a critical review on it considering the local/national adaptation needs, challenges of prioritizing and mobilizing adaptation needs in the budget preparation/mobilization with transparency and accountability.
∎ Work Location: CNRS Head Office (Dhaka)/CNRS-RBRC Project Office (Chandpur) with frequent visits to other field areas.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Conducting grassroots meetings with the marginalized communities, including small-scale farmers, growers and fishers of Bangladesh.
∎ Engage key stakeholders (government, private sector, civil society, community, youth and women leaders) from grassroots to national level;
∎ Stakeholder mapping, intelligence and strategic influencing;
∎ Arranging workshops, campaigns, social media activities for stakeholder engagement;
∎ Keeping track of stakeholder feedback and communicating to managers;
∎ Work closely with stakeholders to organize campaigns on issues related with inclusion of rights of the marginalized in water governance with focus on access and control over common pool water resources and safety from river related disasters;
∎ Strategic planning and consultations for campaigns;
∎ Research, reporting and documentation of project outcomes;
∎ Organization of data and information;
∎ Human interest stories collection and dissemination;
∎ Any other job as assigned by the Management.

Additional Requirements:
∎ 2 to 3 years of overall experience in the development sector including climate change, livelihood, and water sanitation. Having sound knowledge on loss and damage and current climate issues is an added advantage.
∎ Having non-discriminatory and gender-sensitive perceptions along with safeguarding
∎ To protect children in connection
∎ Experiences and skills in advocacy and working with the Local Government Institutions
∎ Efficient computer literacy (especially MS Office applications)
∎ Strong ability to work with the team
∎ Strong ability in problem-solving and decision-making.
∎ Skill in organization, coordination, documentation, facilitation & reporting.
∎ Excellent communications skills in both English and Bangla
∎ Ability to work under pressure and under a multi-sectorial / multi-disciplined team approach
∎ Willingness and ability to drive a motorcycle in the field as and when required and should have a valid driving license.

Salary:
∎ Tk. 45000 (Monthly)
∎ Salary is given with all inclusive.
