Job Context:
∎ Solidar Suisse is looking for a Project Manager to manage and coordinate a project in Bangladesh, aimed at strengthening local Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to engage as actors of good governance and de-velopment in building a sustainable leather sector in Bangladesh. The position requires full-time engage-ment (5 days/40 hours per week).

∎ Position: Project Manager
∎ Location: Bangladesh/ Dhaka
∎ Start date: 1 March 2023 or upon agreement
∎ Contract duration: Fixed-term contract max. until February 2026
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Manage and coordinate a national project on a day-to-day basis
∎ Provide support and guidance to project partners, including advice on project cycle management, pro-ject implementation, efficient monitoring practices, coherent result-oriented reporting, budget planning, and monitoring and control of budget consumption
∎ Ensure the effective coordination between co-applicants and grassroots implementation partners of the project and Solidar Suisse
∎ Monitor the progress of the project and ensure regular, timely and high-quality reporting
∎ Participate in research, strategy, and knowledge development as well as capacity building workshops of project implementation partners.
∎ Support external communication and represent the project in fora of international cooperation
∎ Coordinate closely with the Country Representative and the Regional Representative of Solidar Suisse
∎ Coordination and networking to establish, develop and maintain a network of contacts and excellent working relations with stakeholders, donors and important government partners, including relevant ministries and related line agencies
Additional Requirements:
∎ Essential:
∎ Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience as project/programme manager, including management of budgets, monitoring, compliance with donor regulations, and coordination with different local partner organisations
∎ Proven knowledge of major institutional donors (e.g., EU, USAID, UN, bilateral donors)
∎ At least 2 years of experience in development cooperation, partnership management in Bangladesh
∎ Fluency in English and Bengali.
∎ Proven skills in projects report writing and financial reporting in cooperation with the finance officer
∎ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
∎ Experience in networking, representation, coordination with stakeholders & key actors on different levels
∎ Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
∎ Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
∎ Desirable:
∎ Relevant work experience in a field related to labour rights, trade unions, civil society organisations, and non-profits.
Salary:
