The National Grassroots Disability Organization (NGDO) was formed as a national apex body of the grassroots OPDs in July 2004 as the culmination of 10 years of Action on Disability and Development (ADDs) effort. NGDO is a network of 106 grassroots OPDs at the national level working to advance the rights and participation of persons with disabilities in Bangladesh. It operates in 25 out of 64 districts in Bangladesh which contain over 30,000 active members. As a leading and strong network of OPDs, NGDO attributes much of its success to having strong relationships with the government, NGOs, civil society, and the media. These relationships helped to increase the acceptability of individuals with disabilities in the larger society. The organization is registered by the Joint Stock Company and the NGO Affairs Bureau. The organization has experience in capacity development training of SHGs and persons with disabilities on the process of formation of OPD, strategies for mobilization/organization of persons with disabilities, strategies for raising awareness on the rights of persons with disabilities, etc.

In Bangladesh, the program is being implemented by the National Grassroots Disability Organization (NGDO), which is guided by the CBM Global Partnership Principles, ensuring a collaborative and inclusive approach.
