∎ icddr,b invites applications from suitable candidates for the position of Programmer with Emerging Infections under the Infectious Diseases Division. The appointment will be made on a Fixed Term basis for 1 year which is renewable depending on the performance and availability of funds.
∎ The Programmer will report to the Senior Programmer and the position holder will be responsible to develop, update and maintain web, mobile and desktop based applications in different platform and prepare research data with the objective of providing support to the research groups within the guidelines, policy and procedure and organisational values and guidelines (such as Institutional Governance Framework - IGF and Gender Diversity Guidelines).
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Application Development and Database Design:
∎ Coordinate with researchers to understand the requirements/data needs and process-flow of the projects;
∎ Finalize the process-flow/programming logic for each problem;
∎ Design database in SQLite, SQL Server and MySql and develop program using Android, Angular/ React, .Net, Web API and JavaScript framework for the project;
∎ Update application according to the new requirements;
∎ Share data with researcher according to their needs;
∎ Prepare detailed technical document;
∎ Setup production environment and perform back-end administrative tasks in order to utilize those software as per need;
∎ IT Support and training:
∎ Train up the users on usage of software application and data capture devices;
∎ Collect feedback from users on existing programs for any changes required and make necessary changes;
∎ Developed application installation into the devices;
∎ Provide continuous support for user queries on the field;
∎ Provide required technical trainings to ensure smooth operation and continual improvement for the end users;
∎ Testing:
∎ Setup test environment and conduct trial tests to check for robustness of the program and check for accuracy;
∎ Check data inconsistency according to the requirements and logic;
∎ Prepare report highlighting the errors and correct the errors found in order to make error-free programs.
Additional Requirements:
∎ 3 years of experience in software development domain in a reputed organization and must have ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadline, work under stress and field visit;
∎ Must have knowledge in developing application in Android and/or Web platform using Sql Server, MySql and Sqlite database.
∎ In addition, those who have prior knowledge in Angular, React, C#, Web API, .Net core, JavaScript and Bootstrap would be preferred.

∎ Knowledge of IT Security and Application Maintenance;

∎ Knowledge of IT standards and regulations.
Salary:
∎ Annual Tk. 8,00,800/- inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances and other admissible benefits.
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ 14.8% provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.1,917/- per child per month, festival bonus, contributory healthcare support including dependent spouse and children, group life insurance and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
