- Minimum 3 years’ experience in clinical public health research
- Experience conducting research in NCDs and/or Mental Health
- Proven track record in designing research tools, supervising data collection, and data analysis
- Experience in humanitarian, refugee, or low-resource settings (preferred)
Technical Skills
- Strong skills in statistical software (SPSS/Stata/R) and Excel
- Experience with qualitative research methods desirable
- Strong academic and scientific writing skills
- Good understanding of NCDs (diabetes, hypertension, CMD) and mental health disorders
Behavioral Competencies
- Strong leadership in field research supervision
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication skills in English and Bengali; Rohingya/Chittagonian an advantage

Position Overview
The Program Researcher will support research activities for the integrated Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) and Mental Health project at Hope Field Hospital. The position requires a clinically trained public health professional who will bridge clinical practice, program implementation, and research. The role includes development of protocols, coordination of data collection, data analysis, preparation of scientific reports/manuscripts, and translation of findings into program improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Research Design & Implementation
- Support development of research protocols, proposals, and tools
- Ensure compliance with national and institutional ethical review processes
- Coordinate quantitative and qualitative data collection in facility and community settings
- Work with clinical teams to embed research within service delivery workflows
- Ensure informed consent, confidentiality, and adherence to research ethics
Clinical–Program Integration
- Provide clinical service delivery at the hospital
- Provide clinical insight into NCD and Mental Health research questions
- Contribute to case definitions, diagnostic criteria, and patient pathways
- Support development of clinical SOPs, algorithms, and monitoring tools
- Assist clinical team in interpreting findings for service improvement
Data Management & Analysis
- Ensure high-quality data collection, entry, validation, and storage
- Supervise and mentor data collectors and research assistants
- Perform statistical and thematic analysis using SPSS/Stata/R/Excel
- Develop regular summaries, dashboards, and visualization outputs
Reporting, Publication & Knowledge Sharing
- Prepare research reports, abstracts, policy briefs, and manuscripts
- Contribute to donor reporting and proposal development
- Present results to internal teams, partners, and technical working groups
Coordination & Collaboration
- Liaise with government health departments, academic partners, and NGOs
- Participate in NCD and MHPSS coordination forums
- Facilitate community and patient engagement in research
Safeguarding & Compliance
- Promote gender-sensitive and culturally appropriate research practices
- Follow humanitarian principles and patient protection standards
