Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Initiate, inspire and coordinate strategic discussions on pedagogy and educational strategy throughout the branch campuses’ academic community and drive the successful implementation of their outcomes.
∎ Bring leadership and vision to ensure the branch campuses’ learning and teaching strategies and outcomes are academically challenging, professionally relevant, and delivered using the best available methodologies and technologies.
∎ Develop and oversee the collection and use of appropriate analytics, including measures for identifying, rewarding, and further improving teaching excellence.
∎ Oversee quality assurance of the UCSI Universities’ teaching and learning practices, graduate attributes, and outcomes.
∎ Ensure the branch campuses’ is a provider of a diverse range of quality learning and teaching experiences for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
∎ Invest in effective, timely, sustained development of the skills and professionalism in learning and teaching for all teaching staff, in cooperation with Faculties and Schools.
∎ Develop and implement strategy and policy with respect to use of new technologies and media in teaching and teaching support, ensuring facilities, resources and staff expertise are sufficient to exploit their potential.
∎ Continue the branch campus-wide program of curriculum renewal to ensure the coherence of courses, maximize rational flexibility for students while minimizing duplication and overlap.
∎ Lead discussions at the Academic Board regarding policy development, course development and accreditation and represent the branch campus externally on teaching and learning.
∎ Report to the Head of Branch Campus and the Senate (as and when required) on matters relating to teaching and learning.
∎ As part of the implied responsibilities, the Head of Academic, Research, Quality Assurance and Innovation is expected to adhere to the guidelines set by the UCSI Main Campus, the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, and each country's respective governing bodies.
