∎ Age at least 18 years
∎ At least 0-2 years of relevant experience.
∎ Specific experience managing medical or congenital conditions and amputee patients in acute or rehabilitation settings.
∎ Broad experience in areas such as vascular, critical care, surgery, musculoskeletal, orthopedics, neurology/elderly care rehabilitation.
∎ Knowledge and use of various outcome measures.
∎ At least 2 years of technical experience in development and humanitarian contexts.
∎ Previous NGO experience is preferred.
∎ Knowledge of lower limb prosthetics, prosthetic prescription, and rehabilitation.
∎ Registered with a local association.
∎ Computer proficiency (MS Office in English and Bangla).
∎ Ability to work in harsh conditions.
∎ Good physical condition.
∎ Strong teamwork approach.
∎ Communication skills in verbal and written Bangla.
∎ Knowledge of disability and development issues in Bangladesh.
∎ Sensitivity to child protection and gender-based violence issues.
∎ Experience in rehabilitation and inclusion within humanitarian contexts.
∎ Experience in a multidisciplinary context.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Strategy and Steering:
∎ Conduct weekly physiotherapy sessions to support the identification and data collection of persons with disabilities.
∎ Ensure data entry and documentation adhere to donor SOPs and international standards.
∎ Report on weekly or monthly achievements and implementation issues as requested by the Project Manager.
∎ Support the Project Manager in mapping existing health services.
∎ Ensure external referrals and follow-ups, documenting feedback on provided services.
∎ Follow up on individual and familial cases to ensure timely beneficiary follow-ups.
∎ Refer beneficiaries for specialized services when necessary.
∎ Ensure beneficiaries sign necessary documents when items or devices are provided.
∎ Perform other tasks as requested by line management.
∎ Maintain good communication with beneficiaries, demonstrating compassion and professionalism.
∎ Respect beneficiaries' confidentiality and organizational policies.
∎ Report any incidents or actions causing harm to beneficiaries.
∎ Always interact with children in the presence of parents or caregivers.
∎ • Always obtain permission before treatment and respect any refusal of treatment.
∎ Operational Implementation:
∎ Provision of Physical and Functional Rehabilitation:
∎ Undertake advanced clinical assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate specialized treatment programs.
∎ Understand lower limb prosthetics and ensure appropriate prosthetic prescriptions.
∎ Formulate problem lists and treatment plans, setting SMART goals for patients.
∎ Collaborate with the prosthetic and orthotic MDT members to agree on joint goals and treatment plans.
∎ Focus therapeutic outcomes on achieving and maintaining "OPTIMAL FUNCTIONING."
∎ Assess and treat residual limb edema and pain, providing gait training as needed.
∎ Be professionally and legally responsible for all aspects of work, adhering to guidelines and protocols.
∎ Provide written and verbal handovers regarding all aspects of the role.
∎ Consult with other staff about beneficiaries with specific problems.
∎ Understand professional boundaries and seek advice when needed.
∎ Ensure beneficiary safety during physiotherapy sessions, considering contraindications and precautions.
∎ Refer for medical advice if needed and provide basic exercise guidance to beneficiaries and caregivers.
∎ Support volunteers in managing cases as needed.
∎ Provision of Assistive Devices and Rehabilitation Equipment Management:
∎ Identify beneficiaries' needs for assistive devices and mobility aids.
∎ Ensure devices are adapted to users' needs, providing clear explanations for safe use and maintenance.
∎ Follow up on the use and weaning off of assistive devices.
∎ Ensure the provision of assistive devices aligns with strategy and needs.
∎ Knowledge and Skills:
∎ Essential:
∎ Knowledge of conditions associated with amputation and their impact on rehabilitation.
∎ Understanding of gait assessment and prosthetic components for lower limb prostheses.
∎ Ability to work autonomously and act on own initiative.
∎ Desirable:
∎ Specific knowledge of rehabilitating amputees using different prosthetic components.
∎ Ability to formulate individualized treatment programs to reduce prosthetic gait deviations.
∎ Knowledge of wound types and dressing applications.
