Responsibilities & Context:
Dispense Medications Accurately – Prepare, verify, and dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications according to physician instructions and regulatory standards.
Ensure Medication Safety & Quality – Review prescriptions for accuracy, detect potential drug interactions, and maintain high standards of medication safety and quality assurance.
Manage Pharmacy Equipment & Inventory – Operate dispensing systems, manage medication stock levels, and ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of pharmaceuticals.
Follow Regulatory & Compliance Guidelines – Adhere to pharmacy laws, controlled substance regulations, and professional practice standards to ensure patient safety and legal compliance.
Document & Maintain Patient Records – Accurately record medication histories, prescription information, interventions, and counseling notes in pharmacy systems.
Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals – Work with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff to optimize medication therapy and improve patient outcomes.
Provide Clinical & Specialized Services – Conduct medication therapy management (MTM), immunizations, chronic disease management, and specialized pharmaceutical care in areas such as oncology, cardiology, or infectious diseases.
